Good flat. Price on par with others we looked at. Flat is in the centre of St Ives. It rained the week we were there and we spent a few days looking around the museums and ALL the galleries.

Having read previous reviews, the majority of which are favourable, both my partner and I were looking forward to a relaxing, week long break in St Ives. On first impressions all seemed well; the property is in a great location being only a short walk from the station, to the harbour front and Fore Street, with its restaurants, bars and shops. The location is perfect if you are able to spend lots of time outside on the beautiful beaches as everything is easily accessible. See http://www.lookaroundcornwall.com/more-towns-and-villages/st-ives-market-place for a look at the location.
Unfortunately, on our visit the weather was awful and, as we were without our own transport, we were forced to spend some time inside, which was not a pleasant experience.
The accommodation is poorly sound insulated, meaning you are constantly inundated with noise from passing pedestrians, traffic and the church bells, which ring from 6am until midnight, every 15 minutes. Also, as the property is in close proximity to 2 restaurants and pubs it is noisy until late at night. Living next to a busy road in London I am used to noise but this really is something else. I would also agree with a previous posting about the bed; it really is uncomfortable! I have a firm mattress at home so can only describe the mattress in the property as hard and too small for 2 adults of a small build! Neither my partner nor I slept well for the 3 nights we stayed in Flat 3.
The accommodation is also poorly ventilated, meaning that our clothes, which were soaking wet from all the rain, did not dry, despite being left on hangers for over 2 days. Mould spores are growing both behind the wardrobe, sofa and curtains and the soft furnishings feel damp. Cleanliness is also an issue in this property. The equipment in the kitchen was also stained/ greasy and of questionable cleanliness. I also had to vacuum the flat on arrival as the rug in the lounge area and the sofa were covered in crumbs. This is obviously not what you expect to be doing when you first arrive on holiday.
This property is sufficient for a short break, providing you can spend almost all of the day outside and will be out until late at night. But do not expect to be overly comfortable or satisfied if you do book...

On a more positive note, I can highly recommend Spinacios vegetarian restaurant on the harbour front, Sazbah tapas bar on Fore Street and Pizza Patio, also on Fore Street. I would have liked to have tried more of the restaurants/ bars in St Ives as others seemed equally as good but, being as both the weather and accommodation were poor we decided to leave 4 days early. Please email me should you have any queries relating to the property or St Ives.

We stayed at this flat in March and did not think that it was an ideal winter let. The sofa and chair is a tub like affair that is not at all comfy, the bed was like sleeping on a park bench not comfy at all. I think in the summer it would be ok as you would not be using it that much but in winter you need more comfort. I hated the pound coin electric meter which seemed to be eaten up very quickly; the heating is all electric and if you went out in the evening leaving the heating on in the hope that it would be warm when returning you would be disappointed to find the flat freezing because the meter had ran out.
On the plus side the location is very convenient although bear in mind that you cannot have your car in the vicinity and must leave it up the hill a few minutes walk away in the public car park which we were not very happy about. The flat is ok if you come by train just want somewhere to sleep and go out to the beach and the town every day but for a winter break I would think very carefully before booking.

We could not fault 3 Cheriton House. The apartment is great and the location ideal, right in the centre and only a few meters to the sea. Waking up in the morning and hearing the sea gulls and smelling the sea air was fantastic. All the restaurants on the harbour wharf are less than 1 minutes walk from the flat, and there are FOUR!! beaches within really easy walking distance, the closest being only 50 meters at most. We loved it. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in St Ives and will definitely be going back.

This is the place to stay if you like to be central to everything in St Ives. The flat sleeps 2, is nicely decorated, modern and clean. Bed linen was provided at no extra cost and the owners had even put in some fresh milk, tea and coffee so that we didn't have to run out to the shops as soon as we arrived. Being in the centre makes it really easy to explore St Ives as only the centre is on the flat. Most of the rest of the town is really hilly. We spent most of our time in the galleries and spending money in the local craft shops. But we did get out for a few long walks along the coastal paths and even spent one day on the beach (in March!!).

We paid 195 pounds for the week for both myself and my partner and thought it extremely reasonable.

Flat was great. Went with my wife last July and throughly enjoyed the holiday. The best thing about the flat is that it is about 25 metres to St Ives Harbour and right in the centre of the town. The flat was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable and contained everything we needed. If you looked out of the bedroom window you could see the sea and from the lounge you could see some gardens that had a few Barbara Hepworth Sculptures. Actually, the flat was only a few strides to the Barbara Hepworth Museum which we loved.

The weather was surprisingly good for our week away. Blue skies on some days even if it was quite cold. The town is lovely out of season though. No crowds like last August when we visited. The Tate gallery was my favorite. The flat is in the Market Place of the quaint old centre of St. Ives. The flat was clean and comfortable (and warm) and good value. I would highly reccommend it. Have a good holiday whatever your decision. x
