“Beautiful setting for her sculptures”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

Free entry for Tate members so this was always on our itinerary. Actually preferred it to the Tate. Sculptures always look better outdoors or in living spaces IMO rather than galleries. This garden was the prefect setting for viewing the majority of the work shown here. Must see if you go to St Ives and enjoy art.

“AMAZING”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

I am a lover of art anyway, but this place is amazing... so peaceful and tranquil... it feels just like a walk around her house and garden as if Barbara is still there, so lovely... definitely worth a visit.

“Inspiring and tranquil”
Reviewed 13 August 2012

The exhibition at the Barbara Hepworth museum is very informative and gives an excellent insite in to the artists life and inspirations. The garden is a delight in the middle of crowded St Ives a lovely space to contemplate the sculptures. I'm no art expert and contemporary art is not something that I normally appreciate but this space is a worthy memorial to a famous British artist.
I discovered later that a discounted ticket is available for both here and the Tate.

“Don't miss it”
Reviewed 7 August 2012

Perfect location to see Hepworth's work alongside an insight into her life. The garden complements the sculptures and bringing them to life far more than any formal gallery setting. Have returned several times and always enjoyed.

“Not to be missed”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

This is a look into where this wonderful sculptress lived and worked for many years. The garden is filled with a number of her sculptures. Very little has been changed so it was easy to imagine what it was like when she was at work there. Don't miss it.
