“Wonderful stay in St Ives”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

I had the pleasure of staying at the adorable 3 Porthminster (formerly The Willows) B&B in St Ives in early April and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The charming owners Lynn and John made us feel really special throughout and were friendly and helpful in a way that made us feel like we were staying with old friends.

The room was spacious, comfortable and recently refurbished to the highest standard with comfortable bed, the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean with lots of thoughtful treats in the room.

We were also very impressed with the delicious homemade breakfast every morning, amazing choice and every mouthful delicious. Veggies catered for!

The B&B is a very short walk from the stunning St Ives harbour area which is a joy to explore - although watch out for the brave seagulls if you're enjoying something to eat as you walk along!!

Overall I can't recommend this B&b highly enough, I'll definitely be back - thanks John and Lynn for an unforgettable stay.

Just had a 3 day stay in St.Ives for business and was wary of staying in a B&B but my god I was wrong, John & Lynn have made this house the perfect haven. Wonderful linen, great beds, fabulous breakfast (including veggie sausages and homemade berry compote), enchanting views of the harbour or the bay depending on your room and so close to the town. Each room had a tray with water, tea, coffee and cornish shortbread. There were 3 of us on business and all thoroughly enjoyed our stay - trying to figure out an excuse to get back to St.Ives soon and I know where I'll be staying!
They are in the process of changing the name from The Willows to 3 Porthminster.

Room Tip: all lovely!

Myself and 2 colleagues stayed in 3 Porthminster for 3 nights during the Celtic Media Festival. We had a fantastic time. Lynn and John, the lovely owners, couldn't have been more welcoming. We felt right at home. The rooms are very well presented and all have a seaview. The beds are super cosy too! Breakfast didn't disappoint either - I had both the meat and vegetarian breakfasts which were filling, fresh and delicious. John gave us some wonderful recommendations for places to visit in beautiful Cornwall - places we wouldn't have found without his advice (the Minack Theatre is a must-see!). I cant wait to visit St Ives again and will definitely be staying in 3 Porthminster!

We stayed 1 night on 31st March out of a week walking from place to place along the Southwest Coast Path. We arrived rather tired after some 19 miles of walking from Portreath. John and Lynn made us welcome and although tea was offered we were so tired we just went to the room. Our room was on the top floor and was clean, spacious and comfortable with a good shower in the en-suite. Nice views too. John and Lynn made recommendations for our evening meal in St Ives and we had a good and quiet night. Breakfast was of a high standard with lots of variety and should suit everyone. We use B&Bs as we walk the 630 miles of the path and this one ranks as one of the best we've stayed at! You do have to walk up from the town but pretty much all St Ives is on a hill!!

We recently stayed at the Willows for a weekend break and I'm so glad we found this beautiful B&B. Lynn and John are such genuine and warm hosts it's easy to feel at home. Offers of tea and chocolate biscuits also help! There are lovely touches which personalise and also a sense of very high standards throughout. The breakfast was delicious- particularly liked the choices and lovely homemade compote. It hard to describe this venue and hosts without sounding cheesy but even after a short stay it was hard to leave. The room was bright, spotless, comfortable and with beautiful views ( mid priced room). And there is a lovely lounge and outside seating where you can just watch the sea.The locations is a strong point- just a few mins walk from town, Porthminster beach and the station. I can't recommend this B&B or the hosts highly enough. Thank you- we hope to be back.

The owners John and Lynn made everything relaxed and put us at ease the second we crossed the threshold. A cuppa was offered and a quick chat about our stay made us feel even more at home. The room was perfect with everything from bottled water for the kettle to a radio alarm clock to wake us for a much needed breakfast. This consisted of an array of fruits, cereal, yoghurt and a compote not to mention the tailored cooked breakfast with my particular favourite of baked beans being served in a separate ramekin dish! (stops everything swimming about in juice). With parking on site, great views and great service we look forward to our return.
