The village of St. Ives is a lovely seaside resort, but our stay at the Chy-An-Albany made the experience even more memorable. The view from our room was stunning. The hotel sits high on a hill overlooking historic buildings and the coastline below. The room was actually a nicely appointed suite with lots of amenities. The breakfast and dinner we had there were delicious and quite reasonable. The staff was also outstanding, and as we told them when we left, this hotel is one of our all time favorites.

Room Tip: Ask for the view - it's "superior!"

I really liked the homeliness of this hotel- staff were friendly and my room was at the back with lots of sunshine and view of the garden. It's an older style hotel that does require some navigation skills with the layout.
They have breakfast room and a lounge area at the front, with spectacular views across the seaside.
I stayed here for Easter and came by train. You can walk as its about a block away; however it is a sharp hill steep so not for the faint hearted. It's a short walk into town.

Disappointing stop over for an AA*** Hotel. We had asked for a room with garden views when booking hotel six weeks beforehand. We were given room 2 which has side view of other properties. After 1st night we reported leak in the small ensuite. Plumber had supposingly fixed problem, but 2nd night the leak was still apparent. The shower hose rail was very loose. The remote for the TV did not work, even with new batteries. These faults did not overly spoil our stay as the Breakfast was good and the staff courteous. The big dissapointment was the noise generated from the adjoining room 1. There was no insulation between the adjoining wall of the two rooms and the lay out of both rooms meant you were sleeping head to head. Consequently you could hear everything the persons next door were saying! Not what you want when being waken after midnight with party revelers. Marvelous views of St Ives from the lounge.

I was sorry to read that you had not enjoyed parts of your recent stay please rest assured we work hard to ensure all of our guests have a positive experience with us, unfortunately there is not much we can do with regard to the room to room noise and we can’t really be held accountable for other guests behavior, I do hope that you will stay with us again in the future.

Stayed at The Chy An Albany over the weekend and couldn't fault a thing. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. Carl, the chef, managed to cook up the most amazing breakfast (wheat and gluten free and vegitarian - a lot to ask even the most experienced) which tasted nicer than had I cooked it at home.

A huge thank you to everyone for making it an evenm more enjoyable weekend.

Thank you

This was the second time we have stayed at this hotel so you can probably guess that we have found it to be a wonderful place to stay and it also offers great value out of season. Rooms are clean & comfortable and the staff are always friendly & helpful. The buffet cornish breakfast is great to set you up for a day out and there are other cooked to order alternatives such as kippers or smoked salmon & scrambled eggs on offer. My only critiscism would be that the LCD tv in the room is a bit on the small side for clear viewing from the bed but this is only a minor thing and did not detract from our break. We will definitely be going back again as this hotel offers great value and is in an ideal position for exploring west Cornwall.

My husband and I spent a week at this hotel and was pleasantly surprised by how cosy and friendly we found the hotel and staff. Rates were very affordable, breakfast had a large selection of cold and hot food. Our room had a view to die for, overlooking the bay and harbour! Only draw back we found was that the bath, even though it was a corner bath was a bit on the small side so we used the shower over the bath which was nice and powerful but you do need to ask for a non slip shower mat as we did find it rather slippery, also if you are a short or elderly person do ask for a step as the height of the bath is a bit on the high side. The bed was big but if you don't like hard beds then do ask for a thick mattress topper, we did and it made all the difference. We really recommend this hotel and we will certainly be going again in the future.

Room Tip: We recommend the superior seaview double or twin. Really worth it.

Brilliant three day break, lovely location for St. Ives Town Centre. Large Car Park. Great Cornish Breakfast, better when Buffet selection was available (2 out of 3 were buffet during our stay) Small qliche with booking but we ended up in the executive suite which was absolutely fabulous.
Only one criticism would be the Bed in the Executive suite lets it down.
My wife and I would definately stay here again & again.

Room Tip: Deluxe Rooms with Sea Views
