Highly recommend the bistro in this hotel, food was excellent and very good value. Easy walking distance for the town and lovely views from bedroom and bar / lounge area. Staff very helpful and cheerful.

Lovely hotel.
Just a short walk to the sea front at St. Ives. Fabulous breakfasts and the evening meal is a real delight.
Can not fault the hotel... and will let you in to a secret the best standard rooms are No 11 and No 31.... they both have sea views !!

This hotel looks a bit scruffy/down market from the outside, and doesn't score many points for décor, but it is friendly with excellent staff and service with wonderful sea views. The shower holder in our room was broken, and I found the bed uncomfortable (had to concentrate not to fall off the edge because of the mattress), but beyond that, it had many good points including wonderful food in the bistro, fantastic breakfasts (included in the price) and fantastic staff. It's also conveniently placed for the town and beach (about a 10 minute walk). Ideal for couples and families. We would return.

I had two nights on my own at this hotel on my way to visit friends because I've always wanted to visit St Ives. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was delicious. My room was a single and was small but very comfortable. It was generally clean, although the shower cubicle wasn't brilliant.

The hotel was a very easy walk from the railway station and into the middle of St Ives, and although I didn't have a sea view from my room, the views from the dining room and bar were stunning.

Room Tip: The standard single room I had had an uninspiring view of a bit of grass and a fence (nothing better...

My partner and i have just returned from our 4 th visit to the Chy an Albany Hotel. Negative comment first, the room was small but for just sleeping there its a small negative. The best thing about this place is the staff. From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome and nothing is to much trouble. We stayed for B&B and as usual the breakfasts are excellent. The cooked breakfasts are excellent using local and very tasty produce. We had 1 evening meal which was good. The views from the bar are outstanding. Personnally i think a little more could be done with the front garden and more made from the back garden. All in all another great stay. Thank you.

My partner and I have just returned from an unforgetable stay in St Ives and were delighted by the location of this hotel when we arrived. The view from the hotel is of Portminster Beach and it's a beautiful view at that. When we arrived at reception the staff were friendly and helpful, which continued throughout our two night stay here. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, with a buffet and made to order cooked breakfast. This was our first time to St Ives and we will definitely return and would definitely consider staying at this hotel again.

My wife and I have just returned home after spending a long weekend in St Ives. My wife found the Chy-An Albany on t'internet and later, after I had read some reviews on TA I contacted the hotel to upgrade to a balcony room. We had room number 7 and it was absolutely perfect for us. A large room with double doors leading out onto the balcony where we could sit at a large patio table and enjoy the stunnig views (see photo). Staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn;t eat at the hotel restaraunt in the evenings but if the breakfast was anything to go by we missed out, The hotel overlooks Porthminster beach and is about a 5 minute walk , downhill, to the Porthminster cafe where we had a stunning evening meal (see seperate review). The harbour at St Ives is around 15 minutes at a stroll pace, longer when coming back up the hill though. There is so much to see and do in St Ives that this review cannot do our weekend justice, enough to say we are choosing our next weekend and we will try to get the same room in the same hotel. Ab fab.

Room Tip: There are three rooms with access to the balcony with excellent sea views. We had room 7, very very...
