Coming back to England after living in Australia for most of our lives was a huge holiday for us spending five weeks in all. Our stay in Gekko Lodge was most enjoyable , We found Catherine'shome cooking from her cookies to breakfast very delicious and she also knew her stuff about Cornwall and gave us some great info on places to see. Even though we walked a lot uphill and downhill, walked the beaches, drove to surrounding areas, it was so relaxing to come back to Gekko, to us it felt we were back home in Margaret River, a real beachy atmosphere. We stayed in a few B&B's during our stay but this one topped them all, clean, modern and lovely hosts in Catherine and Sam. We wish them both well and hope one day to visit again. No hesitation in recommending Gekko Lodge. Our room (no.One) had a wonderful sea view, It and the en-suite were modern and very clean. The owner,Catherine, made us feel at home and she produced wonderful breakfasts to start the day. A 10 minute stroll took us to the centre of St.Ives although it was uphill coming back so it took a few minutes longer but we are OAPs. We were very happy there and would love to go back again.

We have just returned from a long weekend trip to Gekko lodge in St Ives and must say that we have never been to a b&b as good as this one. In fact it was better than most hotels we have been to in UK and abroad. Design of the rooms are very modern and whilst photos on website are good you do not believe how nice they are until you physically see them. Location is perfect... Literally 10 mins walk away from the main beach and that was with a 17 month old. Catherine who owns the b&b is very much focused on giving guests as much a pleasurable experience as possible and the breakfasts are top notch. We stayed in the room in the top floor, which was very spacious and en suite was always very clean. Views over the ocean and beach are lovely. We returned from holiday very relaxed and much credit has to be given to Gekko Lodge for this.

Room Tip: Both rooms have sea views but you see slightly more from the room on the top floor as this is obviou...

We had a wonderful time at Gekko. It's a great base for exploring the town and the surrounding area.

Catherine could not have been more helpful and the breakfasts really set you up for the day!

The room, on the second floor was modern and stylish (and spotlessly clean), with a view that takes your breath away.

We'd highly recommend Gekko to anyone wanting a break in the area.

What a find! A perfect little bb tucked away with superb sea views. We couldn't have been made more welcome on arrival. Our room (no 2 on the second floor) was spotless. A realty comfy marshmallow bed, a superb pull out futon for our daughter, wet room and fridge were just some of the amenities provided.
Catherine cooked a delicious breakfast ( including catering for special dietary needs) and surprised us with delicious banana muffins for later in the day.
We loved the 2 nights spent at Gekko Lodge and we will most definitely return.
It is always nice to find fellow vw vintage lovers! Our vw beetles had fun meeting each other and chilling' in the glorious Cornish sunshine xxx

Back from a lovely 5 night stay at Gekko - thank you to Catherine for making our stay so pleasant. The room is very comfortable with all the amenities you could need, and some extra treats which we very much appreciated (muffins on arrival, good tea/coffee selection, and homebaked biscotti). Wonderful waking up, opening the curtains, tilting head and seeing the (often blue!) sky and sea. Great location being out of the main hub-bub of St Ives, we enjoyed the walk back and the hill helpd us feel less guilty about dining out most nights at the great local resteraunts. Breakfasts cooked to order with a fab selection: especially enjoyed the jam and lemon tarts, and local sausages. Catherine gave us some really good suggestions of things to see and do, and even without a car there is plenty to keep you occupied for a week. Would love to return and will be spreading the word of how nice Gekko lodge is.

From arrival to leaving, this for me is the perfect b&b. No fussy overbearing landlady with too many rules but a young couple who seem to have a life. This reflects on how they run their business. It is relaxed and very comfortable. Many of the amenties are what you have at home, a great shower (with locally made toiletries), lovely towels, great coffee etc. Others, like that view out to sea we don't have. The breakfast choice is varied, cooked to order using local produce with the choice of a substantial continental breakfast if you prefer. Ok it is a little walk from the main area of St Ives but that brings interest if like me you are a bit nosey and you can see the real St Ives. Finally great walks from the doorstep and bespoke furniture .
