“Archetypal county museum”

Even our 13 year old enjoyed wandering about looking at all the curios and artefacts. It's probably not great for young children, but then I think even the most whizzbang of museums are wasted on them a lot of the time.

Makes a refreshing change from the over-curated, bells and whistles attractions that proliferate these days and was at least as informative as any museum marketed as an "Experience".

Entry is inexpensive (£2 for adults). I think we must have caught it on the last day before it shuts for winter - glad we didn't miss it!

“A very pleasant hour spent here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013

Came across this museum late afternoon and so glad we went in. Small entry fee to get in and very friendly gentleman on the desk who was joined by a lady on departure. Was really interesting looking at all the old photos of the town, the people and of course reading about the various shipwrecks over the years. There was also loads of other things to look at as well and recommend people to visit.

“A must do in St Ives”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 October 2013

At only £2 per adult, it would be rude not to help keep this great little gem going! Very interesting history to the area and great to see old pictures verses the modern day.
It's obvious someone who loves the area created this museum and the love for the village shines through.

“good value for money”

This museum of St Ives is truly a history of the area, from the local people to the ship owners of the area. Well worth the entrance fee to while away an hour.
