“Fantastic meal and great staff”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

I'd had recommendations for this restaurant so when we had a trip to Cornwall in summer I had to go! The food was delicious, the staff were excellent and were happy to give us recommendations. Couldn't fault it at all - cant wait to go back!

“Very nice meal”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We had our anniversary meal here, partly because we are Masterchef addicts, partly because of the great reviews on here. We received great service when booking the meal and the service was also good on the night. We opted for the fixed price menu as we were both quite happy with the selection and it didn't break the bank at £20 each for three courses. We had the filet steak salad starter, which was nicely cooked and flavoured and the salad was really fresh. My husband had the pork belly which was flavoursome although a little fattier than we are used to (we know it is a VERY fatty cut anyway). The mash was tasty and the apple running through it accompanied the pork perfectly. The crackling crackled as it should! I had the crab linguine which was ok but it could have done with a little more seasoning to make it come more alive. We both couldn't resist the sticky toffee pudding and I'm glad we didn't, as it was possibly the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever tasted (and I have tried a few). Overall it was a very nice meal.

“A Delicious Treat”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

This is a brilliant seafood restaurant.

The staff are friendly and know the menu well. We even asked one waiter for a recommendation and it turned out to be the best dish out of the two starters and two main courses we ordered.

Fresh fish and seafood is treated with respect here in dishes that complement their flavours and there are a few unexpected ideas, such as a crispy won ton atop my pan-fried cod loin.

It's not cheap, but I would definitely recommend Seagrass to anyone who wants a special meal out in St Ives.

“One the best restaurants in St Ives”
Reviewed 16 November 2013

On a recent trip to St Ives, we noted how highly rated Seagrass was on Tripadvisor and hence selected to dine here.

Firstly, there was no problem with bring our young son who slept through dinner (we asked in advance) - thank you.

Secondly, the quality of food is superb. We both enjoyed delicious scallops that had been cooked to perfection. We followed this with sirloin steak (cooked as requested, served chips and salad) and a whole hake (served with potatoes and salad). We enjoyed a cheese board for dessert. All washed done with a lovely cocktail and great wines. Cost was circa £50pp.

Next time we're in St Ives we will definitely visit Seagrass!

“Wonderful wedding meal!”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

We got married at the end of October and as it was a very small wedding, rather than having a traditional reception, we took all our guests out for dinner at Seagrass. It was perfect! All the staff were fantastic and made this an evening to remember. The food was absolutely gorgeous and catered to all tastes - fresh, tasty with gloriously indulgent desserts. We couldn't have asked for better on our wedding day. Many thanks to all at Seagrass.
