The Halsetown Inn was recommended to us, whilst it does look like the sort of pub that you'd be tempted to drive past, don't be put off by the outside it is well worth a visit.
We had two brilliant evening meals there and would recommend a visit.

A varied menu, food was beatifully presented and the service was very friendly, overall great value.

For pub food, outstanding !!

We highly recommend the Halsetown Inn to all our guests and eat there ourselves. my partner said "last nights meal was probably the best meal he has ever had in Cornwall" mine was pretty good also. Can I also recommend a special Gin and Tonic to start. It does not matter how busy they are, they are always very accommodating.

We were looking for somewhere new to have a pre dinner drink, decided to pop in and stay for dinner as the pub is so welcoming, cosy and traditional with some contemporary character thrown in. Food was absolutely delicious, staff incredibly friendly and warm, ale and wine equally impressive. Really enjoyed our meal, had the Asian pork and guacamole starters, divine! Followed by mussels and sea bass special, also delicious. Children enjoyed their meals too and were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back, next time walking across from st ives!

We are here last night and the food was great. Done to a high standard and although they were very busy the food came out in a good time, excellent service. Would recommend highly. Looking forward to going back soon

This pub/restaurant has been unfailingly reliable over the last couple of years. It is popular with locals and visitors alike and booking is advisable if you don't want to be disappointed even out of season.
The menu changes gradually through the year but your are sure to find something to please. They use fresh local ingredients and the chef(s) make great use of them.
Service is friendly, swift and efficient. The beer is good.
The front bar maintains the pub atmosphere and dogs are welcome in there.
If you want to eat and drink well just outside St Ives don't pass the Halsetown Inn by.
