We are a family of four (plus small dog) and stayed here in early September. Booking was very simple and Alison (the owner) was very friendly and responded quickly to enquiries.
The house was much larger than it looked from outside (entrance from the rear) and clean on arrival.
Beds were very comfortable, bathroom and kitchen are well equipped. Lounge/diner in one and a good selection of books and some games. Decked front garden with dining table which we didn't use as the weather was mostly disappointing. The internet was a little patchy at times but we weren't there for that. The harbour and town centre is only a few minutes walk away. Great beaches and clear blue water to suit all users though limited for dog owners. Porthmeor for surfers with still water in St Ives bay. Good coastal walks locally and many a narrow street (often steep) to wander around and get lost in. We can recommend the harbour fish and chip shop (so good we went twice) and some good pubs (quiz night in The Castle Inn was good fun) to relax in after an outing. We went out in the car most days for a coastal walk or beach and saw a comedy at the Minack Theatre. Anyone who knows St Ives is aware of parking issues. The house doesn't currently have a dedicated parking plot so we paid for a week long parking permit at the Barnoon car park but wasn't guaranteed a place on return from a day out. My wife would get out of the car and patrol on tiptoe like a lemur until a space became available (I quite enjoyed watching her running around like a headless chicken from the comfort of a warm car). Alison is on a waiting list for a car park space and hoping to get one soon.
Overall we had a great time and I would highly recommend this property to others.
Located near the Tate and Barnoon car park. The surfing beach - Porthemor - is close by, a short roll down the hill. Both cafes on Porthemor beach are good. 8 Bowling Green Terrace (not to be confused with 8 Bowling Green!) is a lovely house. Works well for a group of friends - plenty of space and if the weather is good the decking area makes a nice place to sit out for breakfast. St Ives is a lovely town - good choice of restaurants, nice beaches, plenty of shops and great ice cream shops!
This house was perfect for our family holiday. It contained everything we needed and more. The owners went out of their way to make the booking process and stay as good as it could be. St Ives is great and the house is well located. We did not leave St Ives all week and made the most of the beaches, cafes, shops and water activities. We will definitely be back for more.
A lovely house with nice personal touches that suited our family of four perfectly and was ideally located for the town and beaches of St. Ives.
The bedrooms had stunning views of both town and coast. The place was very clean, well equipped and lovely and quiet in the evenings.
It was really quite a challenge to find a parking space in the vicinity but I wouldn't hesitate in highly recommended a holiday at No 8!
This was the perfect house for our stay in beautiful St Ives. The location is excellent and only a 5 minute walk from the main hub of the town. The house is beautifully furnished and really does feel like a home from home! The house had everything we could have needed for myself, husband and baby. The sea views from the upstairs bedrooms are amazing! We really enjoyed our stay! Ali (the owner) was very helpful and accommodating. Thank you Ali, we hope to be back soon!
We really enjoyed out stay at No8 Bowling Green Terrace. It was really clean and tidy, with a great courtyard and worked really well with our twins and dog. Great location within easy reach of the beaches and town centre, yet away from the hustle and bustle. So much better than the photos suggest! We hope to return one day. Thanks to the owners for making us feel so welcome - they really had thought of everything.
We were really looking forward to our Easter break, and we were not disappointed. It was so much more in this brilliant house, with the space both inside and out.The house has a lovely relaxed, retro feel which is so welcoming. The location was perfect, only 5 minutes walk from Porthmeor in one direction and 3 minutes walk from the town centre in the other direction. We were three adults, two children and a dog, and everyone had a fantastic time! Thank you to the owner, Ali.
