We had an enjoyable 3 day stay at the Tregenna Castle Hotel. It stands in lovely grounds and has a pleasant, though steep, walk down to town. Not best coming up for the very elderly. If you drive down might be difficult to park in town in high season. We liked the walk as it gave us exercise. I am 70. Staff very friendly and room was nice. There was always a friendly staff member on hand to help with anything. Found food of a good quality. It had an old fashioned feel in the main hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view - costs a bit more.

We are very glad that you had a pleasant three day break with us and that everything, except the uphill trek, met with your approval. Thank you for your compliments and for taking the time to post a review.

Had the pleasure of staying at Tregenna Castle this weekend. A warm welcome and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in!!! Breakfast was good too and fantastic views. Walked into town from the hotel and all downhill, about 10-15mins in total but would recommend getting a taxi back, cost about £6. Would definitely recommend having a look on their website too for good deals :)

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel and lovely and quiet. If we wanted a seaview we would have had to pay a bit more, but it was lovely all the same :)

We had a perfect stay at the Tregenna Castle Hotel recently. We booked at the last minute and travelled down the next day. We were welcomed by very pleasant professional desk staff. We entered our room to find a very spacious clean well decorated room with lovely views, and an enormous bathroom suite. We had a very peaceful sleep in a comfortable very large kingsize bed, with no outside or hotel guest noise to bother us, it was a very silent night to ensure a great nights sleep. Breakfast the next day was lovely, staff were very attentive and friendly, treat you like royalty. Views from the restaurant are lovely looking out across the tropical gardens to the sea. We had a walk after breakfast through the gardens including the tranquil walled garden, and the tropical plants and waterfalls made you feel like you were in a rainforrest. We gazed over the hotel pool again overlooking amazing sea views. We will definitely stay here again, it was a truly memorable stay with an added bonus of only being a short 10minute walk into St Ives.
Its rare to find such a large hotel with such a personal friendly British touch. Well done to all the staff and management, we will be back.
Mr and Mrs Hughes room 143.

Room Tip: I bet theres not a bad room in the place, all would have amazing views of either the sea or gardens

Went on a 3 day break on a Living Social deal which was excellent value for money.
Good service from all staff encountered.
Huge bedroom with fantastic view but lacking in anywhere to put clothes other than hanging.
Bathroom needs updating but clean and functional.
Cord on kettle too short so have to boil on the floor-potentially dangerous.
Excellent breakfast everyday again with attentive staff overseen by a great manager.
Overall a pleasant stay based on the price that we paid.

Just spent three nights at this great hotel. Lovely views of the sea and St Ives and a fantastic 18 hole par 3 golf course (£15.00) that is more challenging than it looks. The service has been excellent, the staff are great, Dinner and breakfast excellent and all in all good value. A short cut walk and back to St Ives is very pleasant and will keep anyone that bit fitter... Our room was on the first floor and with our two cases we were a little cramped, the bathroom was dated but no problem. We used the pool and found our eyes stinging from presumably the amount of Chlorine in there but it was nonetheless very relaxing. We will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the sea view

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your time with us and that you found so many aspects of your stay and our facilities pleasant and delightful.
I have spoken with our Leisure Manager, and he has informed me that the chlorine levels, in the pool, are inspected five times per day. And any adjustments to those levels are dealt with immediately. He is going to check April for any anomalies, but also said that during school holiday periods the chlorine level is kept slightly higher to combat the effects of children's 'accidents'!
Thank you for your review and compliments, I hope that we will see you here again someday.
