“Wonderful room, great views, good facilities”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

We booked 2 nights in a sea view room and were very pleasantly surprised to be told on arrival that we'd been upgraded to a suite - and what a fantastic suite it was! Huge, beautifully decorated bedroom with a wonderfully comfortable bed, excellent pillows and good quality bed linen. The sitting room was equally large and was stylishly and comfortably furnished. The bathroom was large with quality fittings and lovely fluffy towels. Our balcony looked out over Porthminster beach and the March weather was good enough for us to be able to sit out and enjoy the view. I would agree with a previous reviewer that the bathroom lighting and dressing table mirror could be more practical and I was surprised that this was the only hotel we stayed in on our Cornwall tour that didn't supply bathrobes.
Facilities at the hotel are very good, with an indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, small gym and spa - although the pool is not really big enough for 'proper'' swimmers.
The food offer at the hotel is reasonably priced and very good value for money. The staff are attentive and friendly. The hotel is well positioned for guests to be able to take advantage of the large number of restaurants in St Ives, including the Porthminster Beach Cafe where we had a great lunch.
All in all, this hotel was fantastic for a Cornish seaside holiday and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I stayed here for just one night in October 2013, and wish I could have stayed longer!
On Sunday nights the hotel run an offer where for £100 you can get a 3 course meal, full English breakfast, overnight stay and full use of the spa facilities (with 30 min treatment). I am not sure if they are still running this but it was well worth it!!

The hotel itself is stunning, our room was huge and beautifully decorated. We had a sea view which was yet another bonus. The food in the restaurant is very high quality, both for dinner and breakfast. The spa was really relaxing with a direct view of the beach, and has a great range of treatments. Facilities are in excellent condition. The hotel overlooks the beach which looks incredible on a sunny day. It is just a 15 minute stroll into town as well.

I very rarely go back to the same hotel twice, but this is somewhere I am longing to go back to one day!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view!

We stayed here for 2 nights, wish it was longer! Such a lovely hotel with beautiful rooms! We stayed in 109, gorgeous view of the sea and beach. Short walk into the harbour where there is lots to see and do. We made use of the excellent spa, lovely pool and treatments! Would definitely recommend!!

Staff excellent, very helpful and friendly. We had what was described as a partial sea view room on the 3rd floor, so weren't quite sure what to expect, pleasantly surprised to find that we were facing the sea although you did need to stand to see it through a sash window. Room was quite small but well appointed and nicely decorated.
Dined in the restaurant on the first night as part of the package could quite happily have chosen from the set menu which was included in the price, but as we were celebrating opted for the a la carte and had a very nice steak with really good chips, my wife enjoyed her pork belly.
Spa facilities were good and staff friendly, wife very pleased with hot stone massage. Pool water a bit harsh on the eyes, I found.
Considering the same staff seemed to be on duty all the time during our stay, they seemed very happy to be there and were extremely helpful!
We were concerned it would be too big to have any soul but needn't have been. Would stay again. A query over the bill (if you are dinner-inclusive,you should get an allowance for the set menu deducted from the bill if you dine a la carte, which wasn't in our case) once spotted this was dealt with rectified courteously and efficiently.

Arrived at this hotel on Sunday afternoon, checking in was quick, efficient and friendly. Whilst I couldn't fault the room we were allocated at all, I had booked a twin bedded room but somehow had been allocated a double a room! A quick trip back to Reception and full marks to them as we were moved to a twin room. In our opinion this room was even better!

The hotel has been completely refurbished and every room was a delight, and we loved all the old photographs.

We were booked on a one night spa break, which included a spa treatment. We both chose the part body hot stone massage and it was sublime! Lovely spa facilities which are open from 7am-9pm and we took advantage of the early opening and had the whole complex to ourselves.

Dinner choices were excellent and the food itself was beautifully presented. Breakfast choices were also excellent!

All staff were charming and eager to please.

Am I likely to book again? OH YES!

A 2 night break was made even better at this lovely hotel by superb, very customer focused staff! Lovely room with fabulous views. A hugely comfortable bed with great pillows meant 2 excellent nights sleep!
The bedroom was soooo lovely we ate breakfast in there on the 2 mornings & it was just a perfect start to our day. Dinner was very good with out of the world bread.

The spa treatments were of a good standard, I came out semi conscious! But I was surprised there were only 6 beds by the pool-all told, and I have to say the spa didn't have quite the luxurious feel I expected.

All told though the Harbour Hotel was really great value for money with an exceptionally great team of people. My second experience of this hotel chain & I'd happily recommend.
