“A WONDERFUL RELAXING BREAK”
Reviewed 30 October 2012

We returned to Blue Hayes for the second time at the end of August and again had a wonderful time, excellent, friendly, discreet service, spotlessly clean, fabulous breakfasts and wonderful views from our balcony over St Ives (from the master suite). Have already booked for next September as its hard to get in if you leave it till next year! No need to use the car as there are lovely walks from the back of the hotel (if you dont mind hills!). Malcolm and Sue are always very welcoming, a real gem of a hotel.

Room Tip: Master suite has a lovley balcony with sea views to St Ives and a huge bathroom

We stayed her a couple of nights en route to the Isles of Scilly and were very impressed with the quality of the hotel and the attention to detail. We couldn't fault anything.
Our room - Bay Suite, was fantastic, clean, comfortable with wonderful views. It was lovely and quiet which added to our completely relaxing break. As we had travelled a fair distance on the first night we dined in and thoroughly enjoyed our pre ordered salads accompanied by a good bottle of wine. Breakfast was a real feast with so much to choose from - we certainly didn't need lunch!
Malcolm and his staff certainly looked after us very well and we look forward to our next visit.

This was our second stay at Blue Hayes and confirmed it as our favorite hotel in the UK. This is a small luxury hotel in which attention to detail is everything. As good as our first visit was, we saw tangible evidence of Malcolm investing in further fine tuning of the service and facilities. The breakfast is brilliant - fine restaurant quality, the rooms are very well appointed and the location spectacular. As you can see from the other reviews, no-one goes away from Blue Hayes wanting for anything more than a chance to return. Book early!!

We have just returned from a 4 day break at Blue Hayes, which had been recommended to us by some friends.
In a sense it's difficult to add to the superlatives posted here by others, however, it is without question, the best boutique b&b we have ever stayed in. It offers everything that you could possibly want with the added advantage that the hospitality provided by Malcolm and his team is beyond outstanding. If I were running a business in the hospitality industry, I'd send my staff along to Blue Hayes to learn how to do it. If only more British hotels were this good.
Malcolm cheerfully admits to suffering from OCD with regard to the running of the place. This may be troublesome for him, but for the rest of us, it means we benefit from his constant quest for perfection.
We spent 3 nights in the Godevry suite, which was wonderful and has one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. It has fantastic sea views and is spotless. The 4th night was spent in the Master Suite, which again is impossible to fault especially as it has it's own balcony and a bathroom the size of Wembley.
A real advatage of the place is that it's on the outskirts of town and has its own parking. You will never want to drive into St Ives as you are unlikely to emerge again for several months, such is the chaos of the road system.
If you are looking for a break in Cornwall I would challenge anyone to find a place that does it as well as Blue Hayes. This is the best of British hospitality (if that's not an oxymoron) and Malcolm and the team are to be congratulated for creating something so good.

We stayed for two nights and felt privileged to be at the Blue Hayes. From our warm welcome to the comfort of our super rooms we were indubitably impressed with the attention to detail and our hosts interest in our well-being and enjoyment. We will be back. Just a short walk to St. Ives and a torch provided for the walk back. Nearest restaurant is on the Beach - The Beach Restaurant, which is very good.

It's not just the luxurious rooms with their extremely comfortable beds and beautiful bathrooms with the soft , thick white towels and Molten Brown toiletries. It's not just the amazing views and sitting outside on the Terrace having the most delicious breakfast in the sunshine looking over St Ives harbour. It's not even just being able to come down and enjoy a cocktail in the beautifully appointed Cocktail Bar before an evening out in one of St Ives special restaurants. More than all this it's the wonderful welcome you receive from Malcom and Sue. If you've been before, its the way they make a special point of remembering you so that you are made to feel like an old friend returning and not just a paying guest. It's being so well looked after by Steph & Jade where nothing is too much trouble. And then, when the sad time comes to leave, it's the feeling that they might just be going miss you a little bit, too!
It's all of these things that make the Blue Hayes Hotel such a heavenly place to stay and will keep you returning for more.

We stayed at the Blue Hayes for a short stay in the Trelyon Suite after the Olympics. Everything was wonderful! Malcolm had sandwichs & drinks waiting in the room for us after our long train ride from London. The room very spacious, very large balcony, bath etc. It is extremly close to downtown St Ives and a lovely short walk. You can see the wonderful bay from the terrace at breakfast. We were so very sorry to leave and go to the Boskerris. The next time and there will be a next time this is the place to stay. It is rare these days that the location, quality of the room, views and staff are so spectular.

Cheers
Malcolm

Room Tip: I would choose this over the Boskerris which was in Carbis Bay if I had known in advance. The Trelyo...
