We have stayed here before and found it to be perfect. This time it was even better. What is truly commendable is how Malcolm Herring keeps his standards so consistently high year after year.

The already large breakfast menu has been increased to include unusual dishes like devilled kidneys. I love the way that Malcolm greets every guest at breakfast, making everyone feel special. It's a typically lovely touch. He and his staff really care about each and every guest.

Blue Hayes is the most pristine, cleanest hotel I have stayed in. The attention to detail in keeping it spotless is extraordinary.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and individual, but all are the same high standard.

This was our 4th visit to Blue Hayes and is definitely not our last as we have said to keep booking us in until we tell them to stop !!!
I have reviewed Blue Hayes every time we have stayed there and I always think that no more can be said, and it can't really, but I still feel the need to compliment Malcolm and his wonderful team for yet another wonderful stay.

After our drive to Blue Hayes,Malcolm offered us breakfast on arrival, which was a really generous gesture and very much appreciated,( we even managed to dine on the terrace thanks to the lovely weather ! ) but that is the thoughtful kind of thing that Malcolm does.

I have previously commented on the beautiful and immaculate decor, and the wonderful ambience created there, every fitting and fixture is of the highest quality, and the calming colours of cream and blue, are just gorgeous, the whole furnishing throughout shows that you are staying in a very high quality hotel where the exacting standards of Malcolm are attained.

As soon as we drove into the car park of the hotel, Sue, a wonderful person who is not just a receptionist, came out to greet us like friends ( which we now feel we are ) and along with Malcolm, made us so very welcome.

As we were shown up to our suite, champagne on ice and a personalised anniversary card was there for us, a wonderful touch, and a very thoughtful gesture, which Malcolm and Sue have repeatedly done for us since we spent our Ruby Anniversary with them the first year we stayed at Blue Hayes.

I have also previously mentioned both Steph and Jade, two really special young ladies who as well as doing reception work, serve us in the dining room, and who every day greet you with a smile and a cheery word, and are faultless in what they do,they also make you feel like friends returning to stay. I must also mention Jason who we met for the first time this year, who is yet again a really nice member of Malcolm's team.

Not forgetting Louise who does a superb job,and obviously the other hard working people we haven't always met,and those who cook breakfasts "to die for ".

I know I may be repeating my previous reviews, but I can't say enough about Malcolm and Blue Hayes,it really is a very special place to stay, and if you get the good weather, and are lucky enough to dine on the terrace ( we did a couple of times )you almost feel like you are in the Mediterranean, with the design of the hotel and the fantastic views of St Ives bay.

I don't think I can add anything more, other than you really need to book early to get a reservation as the availability page on the website confirms.

The genuine warmth shown by Malcolm and all his team is second to none, and nothing is too much trouble for them,

I certainly recommend a visit to Blue Hayes, you will not be disappointed.
We loved every minute of our stay.

Room Tip: Every room is wonderful, most have sea views,The Garden Suite is ground floor, and The Master Suite...

Blue Hayes owner Malcolm Herring deserves all the plaudits that he gets - be they incredibly positive TripAdvisor reviews or great press coverage.

His small hotel, with commanding vistas of St Ives, is a tribute to his vision a dozen or so years ago when he renovated a very tired old establishment and created one of (if not the best) small hotel in St Ives. Somehow his urbane, self-deprecating style puts all his guests at ease and as soon as you walk through the front door, Blue Hayes is the place to relax and unwind.

Malcolm's style undoubtedly rubs off on his small but very professional and personable team.

Others have written aplenty about the rooms, the spotlessly clean public areas, the breakfasts, the terrace, the lounge bar, the evening suppers. All we can say is that other reviewers are spot on!

Nothing is too much trouble. Like many of his guests, we've already booked in again for next year.

We have just returned from our second stay at The Blue Hayes which happened to be our first anniversary and my birthday! The hotel were aware of this as we actually had our civil partnership there last year which was amazing! We arrived to champagne on ice in our room, the treylon suite and a card from all the staff at the hotel. It is these kind of personal touches that make the hotel a class above the rest. Malcolm, the proprietor and all the staff, Sue, Stephanie and Jade just to name a few,are so friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are so comfortable with all the extras you could need. The food is divine and so much to choose from. The hotel is in a fantastic location which gives you an option to walk the coastal path into town or down the road. Either way it takes about 15 mins max. I think the fact that the hotel is always fully booked and you need to be quick off the mark to get the dates you want speaks volumes about The Blue Hayes experience! We will definately be back next year for our couple of days of pure indulgence!

By any standard is Blue Hayes one of the best hotels ever. Coming back felt like coming home, and after holiday's last night and breakfast you would do anything to make your stay a bit longer. Fortunately there will always be the next time.

A lovely and genuinely hospitable place, wonderful staff and all in all a stunning holiday experience. After a couple of days in Blue Hayes you feel renewed, relaxed and ready to conquer the world.

This was our second visit and it met our already high expectations. Malcolm and his staff made us feel like returning friends even though we had previously only been for two nights eight years ago! They have only a few rooms but all are superb. Sea views from most, sheltered garden access for others. Big comfy beds in spacious rooms. Good bathrooms with excellent showers. The light carpets throughout are pristine, showing the attention to detail that goes with everything. Breakfasts are an experience worth taking some time over, not to be grabbed before rushing off. Malcolm explained how we could easily get there by train another time and then visit other places in Cornwall by bus and coach from just outside the front door, so another visit beckons.

I have fallen in love with St. Ives and with Blue Hayes. A perfect retreat with the warmest of welcomes from the best hosts ever in Malcolm and Sue, they have truly thought of everything. From superb breakfasts, we took ours on our private balcony (Master Suite) to the immaculate decor. Just beautiful.
