I visit the Badger went staying in Lelant, last week I visited several times and ate ther three times. Both the Beer and wine by the glass are good and the food is what pub food ought to be ( the outbreak of 'Gastro Pubs' which are not pubs anymore are a gripe of mine ). The fish on one evening was huge & cooked perfectly, the daily carvery for less than £9 is exceptional value. My roast beef was lean and tender, again the helping was generous.Bread, butter and whisky pudding to follow, mouthwatering.
The Inn attracts many local and also tourist as adjacent Carbis Bay seems devoid of pubs, the staff are friendly and efficent, the huge Great Dane which appears to belong to the management , or vice versa !, is a beauty and confined to the bar, the left hand half.

We have been visiting the Badger Inn for over 40 years and it is always a part of our Cornish holiday. The last owners had started to make improvements to the place and the food was of a very good standard. The new owners however seem to be doing the opposite. The dining tables were sticky and the condiments felt the same. The place in General felt like it needed a good clean. Having dogs in the bar area did not help and I don't think they should be allowed where food is being served. There was only two members of staff during a busy time which meant long waits. The food was okay ish.....we had the sizzlers ....not so tasty as usual and there was very little chicken and steak on the platters, over priced for what we had. We visited the sister Inn in Penzance and the sizzler there was so much better. Will we go to the Badger again on our next trip to Cornwall???

We went away with 3 others and decided to go out just the 2 of us and what a fab place this is, the menu choice is very varied with lots of freshly caught fish amongst lots of other choices. After a lovely meal we had a couple of games of pool to finish of a great night. Well done

The food in this pub is truly amazing - the choice of 4 vegetarian dishes is amazing for a pub - the sizzling veg in sweet chilli sauce fantastic. Fish was really fresh and the crab salad enormous. The staff were friendly and welcoming - we felt like locals! Our dog was treated like royalty - a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We specifically chose the badger for our parents 40th anniversary meal as we had enjoyed good meals there whilst on holiday.
On booking we were told we would be given a nice table,if the table was nice, I would hate to see a bad one! Old, falling to bits and covered in beer stains!
We all had a Carvery which was only average for the £9.95 price tag!
I made a visit to the bar to order a bottle of champagne, after 10 mins of waiting I gave up! The man serving drinks was also checking diners in as well as taking payment.
Everyone looked stressed, irritable and over worked even the Calvary staff were snapping at each other,
Another long wait was experienced when we tried to pay the bill we sat down after another
10 mins and tried again later.
If we were dishonest we could have easily walked out and no body would have noticed.
We certainly won't be returning and would advise anyone not to bother with the overpriced average food and poor service.

So much better than a B&B, the rooms were ensuite, comfortable and clean. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with local information. The restaurant meals were good quality and value for money. The food is all locally sourced and the menu wide-ranging which was very welcome after a day enjoying the local walks. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and will return.
