“Nothing beats the Boathouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We have been to the Boathouse twice now. It is fantastic. Our boys and the other children in the audience have a great time. As do the adults who seemingly revisiting their own childhoods join in with all the fun and songs. It is a magical show that captures all the viewers as they call out, laugh and sometimes jump at the antics on stage. The show lasts long enough to be excellent value for money but not too long for the younger members of the audience. Jason the host and one of the performers supplies drinks and biscuits in the interval and revisits the audience with scarecrow Harry, who giving the children high-fives with out them ever seeming to notice the strings being manipulated by the puppeteer. If you are visiting or live in the St Ives area, do not miss out on this superb entertainment

“Nursery School Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2014 via mobile

Thoroughly enjoyed our time today and the boathouse puppet theatre. I highly recommend taking young children, they were all very focused and paid close attention to the stories. The main part of the show was rumplestilskin.
All the staff seemed lovely and couldn't do enough for the teachers/parents/children, including orange squash and biscuits during a mini interval. Fantastic time, will definitely return.

“Quirky but not for us”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2013

We went to see Witchwood & Jo Jo, a puppet show.
I liked the building, it is small and very compact with bench seating.
I liked the proprietor, he was helpful seating you in order that you had a good view and were not looking at the back of someones head. I still found it hard to see and to hear above the voices of children and crunching on rice cakes. My 5 year old enjoyed it.This is definitely the smallest theatre iv'e been in. The show had good scenery and lighting which I assume was authentic of an old puppet show. I didn't think much or the puppet show itself but the theatre is worth a visit just for it's quaintness and quirkiness. We were served orange squash and biscuits half way through. Cost £4.50 adults £3.50 children for this performance. Lasted an hour.

“Wonderful little place for children.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013 via mobile

A little gem of a place! Great atmosphere, and you are right in amongst the action. Well worth a visit especially on a rainy day. The 'crew' or 'team' are just as quirky as some of their puppets!
