“Lovely hideaway in St Ives”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Small but cosy old cottage near the centre of St Ives. It's nestled in the small warren of streets, so no view, but 1 minute walk to the beautiful Porthmeor beach (which has a cafe with the best food in St Ives IMO). Warm, clean, great location (close to restaurants etc), everything worked, good broadband, highly recommended. Just be aware the garden is not part of the main house, but v close.

“I want to buy this cottage!!”
Reviewed 12 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We cannot praise Ancient lights highly enough!! The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well equipped, lovely decor. Positioned only seconds from Porthmeor beach, it would be impossible to better it. We intend to stay again next year. Thank you.

“Ancient Lights - Great cottage, fab location”
Reviewed 10 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We visited the cottage over the New Year period as a family of four (plus our little puggle friend), and found it to be the perfect size for all of us to feel very comfy. The kitchen in particular was excellent.
The cottage is located either a short walk down from Barnoon car park, or a short walk up from Porthmoer beach, whichever way you are coming from, but it is in an excellent central location, close by to the harbour, fore street, and all of the excellent beaches.
No negatives to offer really, we have stayed in similar accommodation recently in The Digey (round the corner) and this is definitely on a par with that.
One final thing, would highly recommend experiencing New Years Eve in St Ives if you get chance, it was a brilliant night enjoyed by all our family and friends!

“Exciting and dramatic accomodation and location”
Reviewed 30 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

Very well presented little fisherman's cottage with a huge amount of character, perfect for our family of four, 2 adults and 2 young girlies, website doesn't do it justice, is much much better in real life, you need to be fit to keep walking up the hill to the car, but you're compensated by a. doing your personal health good and b. stunning views of St Ives.

You can hear the sea as you lie in your bed at night - very relaxing.

The property was extremely clean and almost every little extra thought of, from tea & coffee to books & games for the kids, buckets and spades for the beach.

Can't rate it highly enough.

My only suggestion (and this is constructive critism) is that it would be useful if there was a small freezer, I had to buy ice from the co-op and thankfully it was very cold outside so we managed to leave the ice outside in a cool bag and it didn't melt!! But I guess it'd be a different story in the warmer months!!!

“Fantastic Christmas break”
Reviewed 28 December 2014 for a stay in December 2014

On arrival we were welcomed with mulled wine, mince pies, cream and a Christmas tree, making our family christmas at the cottage even more perfect. It was great for four adults and two small children. The location is fantastic, shops, parking, beaches and restaurants within walking distance.
We have been holidaying in St Ives for over 20 years and this has to be up in the top three.

“Cute & Cosy Cottage”
Reviewed 10 December 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I stayed here with 3 other adults & it was perfect.

The house is beautiful (the kitchen is gorgeous!), the information provided by the owner was very good, the house is very close - walking distance to the beach, good value.

The only negative was that the shower is very small & had a problem with the toilet, but that wasn't too much of a worry. It was a little difficult to find & get luggage to the front door but again, not too much of a worry.

Not good if you are disabled due to the steps/hill and size of house.

“Great location ideal for kids beach holiday”
Reviewed 12 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here with our family of two adults and three children aged 9,8 and 6. It is a very comfortable and cosy cottage, but the best thing about it is its location!

Not only is it just a short walk to the beach - ideal for those exhausted kids after surfing and bodyboarding - but also right in the middle of the buzzing St Ives centre. The cottage itself is in a very quiet location so although you are close to all the restaurants and shops you don't notice this and the cottage is a great place to relax and have some peace & quiet. The only noisy thing are the seagulls who do wake you up early in the morning, but we got used to this towards the end of the week.

For a family of 5 the cottage is quite small (with one of the children sleeping in the living room) and especially the bathroom shower is narrow, but we managed and everyone really enjoyed the cottage. The only other drawback was parking, and especially unloading which requires either a long walk with suitcases to the car or a challenging driving maneuver reversing down a very steep, narrow road. But then this was only needed at the beginning and end of the stay.

Overall we had an absolutely fantastic holiday in St Ives and this was a great cottage for a holiday to combine both beach and holiday town without having to drive everywhere, all in walking distance.
