I've been staying at Trevalgan for years ever since my Mum and Dad put a pin in a brochure for Cornwall and have been coming back pretty much every year since I was a little girl and I'm now pushing 30! :)

I cannot recommend this place enough! It's so idylic, picturesque, quiet and beautiful. I've always enjoyed my stays here, it's just like home from home.

I've pretty much stayed in every place at the farm and they are always clean and tidy. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE going to Trevalgan and the prices are reasonable. There's a lovely walk you can go on that starts at the farm and has some beautiful views along the way.

I also want to personally thank the owners Russell and Mel for being so kind in letting us borrow The Carthouse as I was staying at Trevalgan for the week of my wedding and it was so handy to have the space to use for the morning of the big day so that I could get ready.
They are absolutely lovely people.

I will definitely be back next year to stay at The Stable, as always, for our first anniversary treat.

Thank you again for a lush stay. I cannot thank you guys enough for all you have done and the bottle of champagne you left for us, it was such a lovely thought.

See you next year!!! :) xx

We've just returned from staying at the Trevalgan Holiday Fram in the Hayloft. We had an amazing time with our 2-year-old. The owners Mel and Russell are friendly without being at all over-bearing, and the facilities for young ones are amazing. There are 2 little gardens with a wendy house, another small house to climb in and a slide. There are a couple of friendly goats, chickens, ducks and a bunny, as well as a large and very-well-equipped playbarn where we spent hours at a time with our daughter.

The Hayloft was clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The free wifi was reliable and fast.

There's an hourly bus service (£1.50 per adult, free for under-5s) from the holiday camp practically opposite the holiday farm to the centre of St Ives which runs hourly from June to mid-September.

We'll definitely be back again.

It's easy to start to feel a bit worn down at this stage of the season but reading your lovely review has just perked me up. Thank you so much for taking the time to post and we're delighted you enjoyed your stay.

We stayed at Trevalgan Holiday Farm for two weeks (August 2014), in The Parlour, a two bedroom downstairs cottage, part of cottages overlooking a communal garden/seating area with views of the sea. Booking two weeks was a gamble, but it was nothing to worry about, and infact, we've booked again for 2015. As other have said, there's things for young children in the cottages, and in a playroom, and a games room with pool table, table tennis and table football (50p a go for the pool and football). During our stay our 7 year old had use of the playground on the nearby touring park and we had use of the shop too. Russell and Melanie are the friendliest of people, running a working farm and cottages to boot! there is a small area with ducks, two goats and a friendly rabbit as well as chickens. Being a beef farm, Russell sold his own produce and offered a BBQ once a week for anyone wanting a day off cooking. The coastal path runs right past and through the farm, with miles of scenic walks down to St Ives and Zennor. The cottage was sufficiently laid out with all the usual stuff, an under unit fridge with small freezer, electric oven, microwave etc with access to a washing machine (for a cost) if necessary. All in all we were so impressed we've booked again and told plenty of friends too!

We stayed in the Hayloft for a week with our 6 year old daughter. This one was on the first floor of the barn and is clean, modern, a good size, and has a view of the sea. The only disappointment was the shower which being run off the mixer taps just wasn't powerful enough!
There is a large communal garden with plenty of seating and outdoor toys for younger kids.
The campsite next door has a bus service to and from St Ives town centre in the summer which was very handy. Alternatively you can take a 40ish min walk along the fields or coastal path where you get some fantastic views (note some tricky styles and rocky areas so not suitable for all). The campsite also has a small shop and a good playground.
On the farm itself there is a games room and a large play barn for pre-schoolers which has plenty of toys plus DVDs and books to borrow. They also have a farm trail which was a lovely walk despite us seeming to miss some of the numbered posts!
It was a great location as everything we wanted to visit was less than an hour away and St Ives itself has great shops, restaurants/cafés and beaches to enjoy.

Thank you for your review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We take your point about the shower and we'll have a think to see if there's anyway we can give it a bit more oomph!

Our first visit to Cornwall and so glad that we chose the location and the holiday farm. Our little cottage was clean, modern and well equipped. The Stables was just the right size for us and our toddler. A great help to have the travel cot, high chair and kids plate, bowl and cup. Greeted by yummy homemade cookies so a great start. Only 5 minutes maximum into St Ives so ideal and our toddler adored the animals. He loved to visit them every morning and evening and the toys available were ideal to keep him busy. The play barn is super and has so many toys but as the weather was so lovely we didn't use it a lot but it would fantastic on days when the weather is not as good. Would happy return again and recommend to families big and small plus couples too.
