We chose Ten Ocean View as it sounded an ideal base for our week's long stay in St. Ives this summer. We were not disappointed. Once we had negotiated the rabbit warren of streets in the town (our mistake as we took a wrong turn) it was with relief we arrived at our destination. Gill and Mike greeted us warmly and we immediately were made to feel at home with a welcome afternoon tea and cakes overlooking the fabulous view of the bay in the dining room. Our room at the top of the house, as well as being clean and comfortable, had even more amazing views of the coastline and local surfers' beach. We started each day with a wonderful breakfast which was, by far, the best we have had in any B&B with Mike's scrambled eggs achieving the gold standard, in our book, of being perfectly soft and not the usual solid mass floating in a watery puddle one usually experiences in hotels/guest houses. His home made breads, porridge with fruit and cream, etc., were all delicious. Over the next few days, we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the area and it was great to leave the car safely parked up and walk everywhere. St. Ives is a gem and Ten Ocean View, with it's excellent hosts, the perfect base from which to experience it. We are looking forward to a future visit.

Room Tip: A front room will give the best views. The room at the top is lovely but the shower room, although well appointed, is small.

We were staying in St. Ives to do some family history research. We were not looking for a "beach" holiday but St. Ives was wonderful. On the plus side, Mike and Gill were terrific hosts, welcoming us with homemade cake and tea. The room had a comfortable king-sized bed and was very clean. It was, however, somewhat small, with little room for luggage. And unfortunately, the plumbing of the house next door was very loud (amusingly so...how many times did they have to use the loo??). We didn't have a sea view but were able to sit in the beautiful garden facing onto the beach and ocean. Very relaxing.
The best thing about this B and B, apart from the hosts, was the food...amazing! Mike used to be a baker and the breakfasts were full of homemade breads, biscuits and cakes. And Gill's scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were sublime.
Beware...St. Ives is difficult to manoeuvre by car. We got turned around many times trying to find our way back to the B and B. But once there, you can walk everywhere.

Room Tip: Try for one at the front for a sea view.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were in room 2 at the top of the house with lovely sea views. Shower is a good nice with excellent water pressure. Gill and Mike are the perfect Hosts who make you feel very welcome throughout your holiday. Breakfast is superb and all homemade which I think makes it even more special. We would highly recommend a visit to this B&B.

The welcome you receive from Mike and Gill is 5*. Home made cakes and tea after a stressful drive made all my worries melt away. The rooms are spotless and the views amazing. it is hard to drag yourself away. When you do Mike and Gill offer you seats in the garden with views to die for. Breakfast and Mike's baking are the best we have ever had. We will be back and hope to stay in room 3 again. Thank you for making our holiday so relaxing!

Room Tip: Room 3 excellent view, you will not want to leave.
