“4 Day Stay”
Reviewed 13 April 2013

Stayed for 4 days in April. The 'Anchorage' is full of character. It is also very centrally located - perfectly positioned near the harbour and sea front. Chris is an excellent host - helpful at all times. Yes... the breakfast is good! Our room (3) was clean, stylish and well equipped with quality furniture. This is a small, homely guest house which we would recommend. We really had a great time.

Stayed here for Easter, received a very warm welcome from Chris. Room was really nice, breakfast was excellent, in fact I'm still talking about the breakfast, (2 weeks later). The Anchorage is really handy for the town also only a 5 minute walk for a stunning walk along the South West path to Zennor. Thank you Chris for a relaxing and lovely stay.

Stayed at this charming and lovely b&b just one night. Location is perfect, just behind the harbour, in a very quiet little street. The exterior is beautiful, and inside the rooms are a bit small with low roofs (the house is old, so it is like a journey back in time). Our room was really lovely, on the top of the building with a nice and big window, all decorated in light blue, with a small bathroom with shower. It was fantastic to be waken up by the sunrise over the bay in the morning!

Room Tip: I will recommend to everyone room number 1, lovely. However, pay attention if you have large bags or...

My partner and I have just come back from a lovely weekend in St Ives. The Anchorage was very welcoming and bang in the middle of things. Chris was very knowledgeable about the area and as it was our first time visiting, went through the best places to visit. The breakfast was fabulous, the room was rather small for my 6'4" partner, but it was fun and fantastic to be able to lie in bed and be able to see the sea. The trip was a birthday present for my partner, he loved it and we will definitely be returning.

Just had a weekend break in St. Ives and stayed at The Anchorage. For those of you that know St. Ives, The Anchorage is located just behind The Sloop in the harbour. So it's close enough to be near all the pubs and restaurants without having to drive or grab a cab.
It's a small place, only has 4 rooms. But the one we stayed in was immaculate. Chris (the owner) keeps them beautifully and his breakfasts (using local ingredients) are stunning.
If you are thinking of staying in St. Ives look no further.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

Room Tip: Go for the ground floor room. Access direct from the street.

This charming B&B is post card pretty form the outside and charming on the inside with lots of beams. Anyone (like us) over 5 feet 9ins does need to concentrate on not banging their heads, but to be honest if you have a problem with that you'd best book into a boring large hotel. We were in a room right at the top of the house (the attic) - you have to get up a flight of very steep stairs - but the views from the room make it a worthwhile venture. Rooms are decorated very nicely - no chintz in sight.
Breakfast is very good with plent of choice and Chris is helpful and attentive.
The mega bonus of this b&b is its location. It is right in the centre of St Ives with all facilities and the sea literally on your doorstep. St Ives is always a joy to visit and this great little b & b an ideal base.

Room Tip: The attic room is great if you want a view.
