“A warm welcome”

Following a stay 2 years ago I had no reservation in my choice of accomodation. The stunning views of Porthmeor beach are matched by the hospitality offered by Linda and David. Comfortable, spacious rooms, a fine breakfast, a home from home. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was made to feel welcome and relaxed and I look foward to staying again soon.

This is our 4th visit to Monterey and every time we come away with a sense of relaxation and enjoyment. Linda & David are fantastic hosts who will always offer their assistance wherever they can. The breakfasts are scrumptious with plenty to choose from (the apple juice is a must!). The rooms are spacious and full of delightful touches with 2 of the rooms having incredible views over the sea. If you fancy trying a couple of new restaurants/cafes try Peppers in the town and Porthgwidden Cafe on the beach:

You would be mad not to visit this wonderful guest house run by a wonderful couple.

We stayed for one night having booked at short notice. We had the only room available which, as it turned out, was the only one without a sea view which was possibly the only negative about our stay - however really our own fault for leaving it so late to book. The room was small but nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed for a one night stay. The building itself was lovely and very well located being just a few minutes walk from the Wharf, the Tate and Town Centre. The owners were very friendly and happy to pass on advice about the area etc and the breakfast was superb with a wide range of cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, and a lovely full english breakfast. All in all a superb place, really highly recommended to anyone looking for B&B accomodation in St Ives.

My wife and I stayed for 3 Nights. The double room was as it appears on their website, had been refurbished to a comfortable standard with a mix of modern fittings sympathetic to a traditional house. The on suite was not the normal cupboard, It was spacious and warm with a large walk in shower. The bed was new ,very comfortable and always fresh and tidy. There was a pleasant seating area with a wonderful view.
Obviously March is a quiet time however there were other guests staying at various times. Despite this the whole house seemed tranquil and well run. The owners were pleasant and attentive but not intrusive. Breakfast was very good and varied a little each day. Limited car parking was available for a small extra charge, it is a little cramped but if you insist on bringing a car to St Ives, compared to the rest of the town there is plenty of space. Well done Monterey hope to see you soon.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the double room at the front of the house which had recently been refurbished in a delightful and elegant style. The view from the room was superb and all in all it was everything you'd want from a seaside bed and breakfast.

Linda and David the owners were also very nice, friendly and helpful.

I would definitely recommend staying here as it was a lovely guest house, with beautiful views of the ocean.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this B&B late July this year for a long weekend. We stayed in the 'penthouse' room- large room on the top floor. The views were amazing, from the large bay window you could look out onto the whole bay (the b&b is positioned just behind the grave yard behind the Tate gallery- really close to the beach and to the centre.

The room was large, very clean, lovely clean bathroom with large shower. Rooms were double glazed which was great as the seagulls were very loud when we left them open one night. The room was a little pricey- £90 a night but it was peak season and the weekend that we tried to visit we had already contacted around 15 places that were fully booked!

The breakfast was lovely each morning- great selection of cereals, fruit etc followed by full English breakfast each morning. The owners were happy to cater for any special requests and were very friendly. Only slight problem was the times over breakfast. We were asked if we could do 08.45 the first morning for breakfast (as someone else already was booked in for 09.00) and the same on the Saturday morning- although we certainly out 'raving' each night I did feel that it was a little early for a weekend on holiday. We did manage to get it pushed back to 09.15 on the Saturday morning but felt a little uncomfortable asking for this. However, we did see more of St Ives following our early start and actually quite enjoyed not 'wasting the day away' by getting up and about!

I'd also highly recommend Alba restaurant if you're looking for a reasonably priced meal (around £14-£20 for mains) high standard, food was excellent, although you do need to book in advance to be sure of a table.
