“Excellent view, nice rooms, very welcoming.”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

Our stay in Tregony coincided with the new owners first week in taking over the B+B but we wouldn't have known had they not mentioned it. The room was well presented, very clean, cosy and warm which was nice as we stayed during a rainy weekend in January. The view from room 5 looking onto Porthmeor beach is incredible. I don't think there can be many other places to stay with such a beautiful undisturbed view. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and the breakfast was fantastic. Full service was offered despite the owners obviously still getting settled in and there only being one other room occupied. It would have been forgiven if they had tried to cut corners with a smaller breakfast service but this simply was not the case. We had a slight problem with the shower working intermittently but the owners did their best to rectify the issue and were very apologetic and ensured it would be something they would fix as soon as possible.

Thank you very much for your fantastic review. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay with us, especially as it was our first week open! We really appreciated you being so understanding about the shower, and the day after your stay we went out and bought a new one, and had no more troubles since (touch wood!). We’ve been doing lots of redecoration over the last few years, and would love for you to come back and stay with us again when you’re next in St. Ives. Best wishes, Jackie, Keith, Charlotte & Gavin.

A lovely welcome and very well looked after. Very friendly couple and good advice. Room was spacious and towels soft and fluffy! Breakfast also good. Sausages particularly good! The only qualm was the big hills but st Ives is full of them!

As in previous reviews we had room 5. Great views over the surfing beach with all the comforts, including coffee and biscuits being replenished daily, and nice smelling shower gel and shampoo. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices.Shane and Lorraine were very welcoming and helpful.Thank you both for a great few days.

We've just spent the last nine days in St Ives. The last two were spent at the Tregony Guest House. What lovely people Steve & Lorraine are. We had a warm friendly welcome and were soon shown to our room. Room number 5, was on the second (top) floor of the guest house, we had ordered sea views that's exactly what we got, a terrific sea view. The room was of perfect size with two very comfortable chairs facing seaward. A lovely comfortable bed helped us rest our weary legs from the many miles of walking. The breakfast is also worthy of a mention, plentiful and delicious...we will return to this peaceful guest house, our week or so was complete.... Thanks guys...xxx

An excellent guest house with a warm welcome. Excellent views from room 5 out to sea. Clean and comfortable bedrooms with enough space for your visit. The breakfast was exceptional. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts were lovely people. We often visit St Ives and will definitely stay here again.. 5 minute walk to town....but 10 mins back..... Lovely.....

Room Tip: Room 5 sea view for 2

A very neat B&B, close to the Tate Gallery and town centre.Tasteful room and the bed was so comfortable. I appreciated that there was a make up mirror. The breakfast was plentiful and the coffee as strong as we like it. Felt very welcomed from day one. The hosts gave us many good tips of places to see in St. Ives. We went to the Seal Island and the St Ives Museum which was interesting with all its artifacts from days gone by. If you are looking for a personal and genuine place to stay - this is the one you should go for! Only thing I regret is that we didn't book more nights than two from the beginning... If you are traveling by train or bus on your arrival, I recommend you to take a cab as the hills are steep and you get easily lost in the alleys.

excellent little B&B, only 5 mins or so (downhill walk) to beaches, very friendly staff, excellent and plentiful breakfast. Ok there is the walk back up the hills but that is similar for the vast majority of guest houses in St ives. If you want the beach on your door step you will have to pay heavily for it.

very clean and tidy room, good shower and tv.
