“Unspoilt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

Unspoilt and peaceful - search awhile and find the grave of Alfred Wallis. The Barnoon is a well kept secret - a magical, peaceful and completely unspoilt little place above the sea.

Visited Barnoon Cemetry as part of Shanty Baba's Ghost Walk, which I highly recommend.

Really interesting place to visit, came here on the Shanty Baba ghost walk which I highly recommend, lots of history to the graveyard so well worth a look, also fantastic views of Porthmeor Beach, peaceful and pleasant.

“Beautiful views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

A good walk across St Ives is the Barnoon Cemetary. I happen to like cemeteries they are peaceful places and this one is no exception with grave stones looking out to sea from the hill side to the sound of the waves rushing to the shore on Porthmeor beach. Amongst the the graves stones dating back some 100 years plus is the grave of Alfred Wallis who was a local artist who died in 1942. His grave stone is beautifully decorated with tiles made by Bernard Leach. Well worth the visit on the day we went it was our goal to find the grave which we did.

While visiting st ives last week I was staying not far from the cemetery and had to walk past every day the views are beautiful and the local ghost walk passes through there of an evening telling grizzly tales.
