What can I say? Amazing hosts, very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Breakfast was lovely and the bar was a great idea as we normally had a couple of drinks before heading out to st Ives for dinner. Would not hesitate to book and visit again. Thx Mandy and Gary.

We had a great week in Carbis Bay/St Ives thanks to the warm welcome we received from Mandy and Gary.
The food was great with plenty to chose from (Full English, Continental, Cereal, Scrambled Eggs etc)
We took the coastal path located across the road from the Guest House on several occasion and the views were amazing! We definitely recommend the walk to St Ives!

So welcoming and friendly hosts, lovely guest house, excellent bedding, yummy breakfast with a large choice (full English or a part of it, smoked salmon, several kinds of toasts, ...), free parking in front of the house, good insulation, ideal quiet situation just outside St-Ives, definitely a place to recommend !

Room Tip: Perfect place in Cornwall

Hosts Gary and Mandy couldn’t be more friendly and willing to help. The Thurlestone is ideally situated as we walked into St Ives every day for a week via the lovely coastal track. However on the final day I tripped on a pavement breaking my wrist! Gary came to the rescue like a knight in shining armour insisting that he drove me to hospital and waited until I had been treated.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend from Friday 7th June to Monday 10th June to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary, and we had a fantastic time! We stayed here 5 years ago, and when we saw that Mandy and Gary were still the owners, we had no hesitation to return! This B&B is just absolutely lovely through and through, from the minute you step in the door you are greeted like an old friend, and Mandy and Gary are both so lovely and friendly you feel you could stay forever! When I made the booking I mentioned it was our anniversary and Mandy asked if we would like anything special - I said no, not to worry, we were just glad to be going away, but they still surprised us with a bottle of bubbly and a gorgeous card on the day - we felt really special.

The rooms here are fab - we had the rear-facing room, and it was just perfect for us - cozy and homely, tea and coffee facilities topped up every day, and a brilliant en-suite. Coming back to our room after a day out and about did feel like "coming home". The breakfasts at Thurlestone are brilliant - a cooked brekkie here will set you up for the whole day, and comes heartily recommended. The eggs benedict is yummy too, and tea, coffee and hot toast are always available.

The B&B is perfectly situated in Carbis Bay for a wander down to the beach (a beautiful beautiful beach) the local chippy if you don't fancy going to a restaurant for an evening meal, a lovely Italian restaurant Casa Romano and you're only a five minute walk to the train station for a trip into St.Ives. (Much easier than parking in St.Ives, and the views from the train are just stunning.)

If you're planning a trip to St.Ives, this B&B is the place to be!

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear don't have a sea view, but if you're out and about most of the day any...

A great B&B with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Hosts Mandy and Gary 'go the extra mile' to ensure that guests feel at home. The breakfast menu had something for everyone: the full English was freshly cooked and delicious. The honesty bar was a real bonus, particularly after a day spent walking the wonderful Cornish coast. Thurlestone is ideally situated on the main road into St Ives, close to the coastal footpath and Carbis Bay railway station, but its position is also a slight drawback. The road is very busy and I suspect most front room guests will opt to keep their windows closed at night. Mind you, given the British climate, this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Overall, a top class B&B to which we would definitely return. Wholeheatedly recommended.
