“Fantastic Place!”
Reviewed 23 January 2018 for a stay in January 2018

As a family of two adults and two year old twin boys we had a lovely stay at the house.
Nicely built and well designed accommodation with everything you could possibly need for a holiday stay.
The house was very much baby and child friendly - both boys enjoyed the space.
Rain or shine the place has lots to offer.
Carbis Bay and St Ives are an easy drive away. You can also get a regular train service from Carbis to St Ives to avoid the parking hassles.
Loved the overall design of the resort, plenty of space between the houses.
The swimming, gym , and restaurant facilities are excellent.
Nearby restaurant La Casita is about 10mins walk away and excellent! Serving Spanish tapas and pizza’s - very friendly and great with the kids.

A big thumbs up all round.

Look forward to staying again

“Luxury Hideaway”

My family and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at number 71 on the Una Resort. After a long 360 mile journey we were hoping for an easy check in and a nice place to call home for 7 days and we weren't disappointed. Check in took literally a minute to do and the accommodation was pure luxury. The accommodation was large, bright and open plan and the fixtures and fittings were amazing. The resort is just beautiful, it's in the middle of nowhere so is quiet and lovely to relax in. The resort has been designed to be kind to the environment so its gently lit at night so great for any budding sky grazers out there. The facilities such as the pool are literally 100 meters from your front door and are in great condition, we went there every day and were the only ones in there which was great for us. The only problem we did have was a slight smell from the kitchen sink, we reported this to the site reception and they had a plumber look at it the next day. They didn't fix it there and then as it required more investigation work but it didn't effect us in the slightest and we were impressed with the quick response. We booked with blue chip holidays and overall the resort and the holiday home were outstanding.

“Sunny Cornish Luxury”
Reviewed 19 April 2017 for a stay in April 2017

We thought this place looked good when we saw the website but we genuinely went 'wow' when we opened the door. It looked brand new and clean with absolutely everything you could want.. right down to a wood-burning stove. It had two bedrooms, one with THE most comfy) double bed and en suite bathroom and another twin bed/double room with en suite, beautifully decorated. The main room is big and airy and the sun was streaming in the morning. Everything we wanted was there, it was very comfortable and with lots of little finishing touches including a welcome pack with things like orange juice and cheese. I have to mention the pool here... it is an infinity pool, again light, airy and is perfect.. we felt completely safe to let our 9 year old grandson (almost) live in there as it was just the right depth. There was also a colder plunge pool and a jacuzzi (for over 12s) and steam room and sauna. Also fantastic spa and treatment area and a sunny cafe with cakes to die for! It is a great base from which to travel Cornwall.. (which we did) so we had days when we went further afield and other times when we just chilled. In a nutshell, I would say that if you want to be based in a town like St. Ives with shops on your doorstep, it's not for you but if you want somewhere where you can chill and enjoy the facilities and have days out exploring beautiful Cornwall, this is for you.

“no views no fun middle of nowhere”

We stayed a week at number 71. We paid £770. They weren't expecting us due to some garbled excuse but it was sorted eventually, with a bottle of wine thrown in.
The development is basically a bunch of fancy yurts built on an old caravan park. If you like other people's smelly barbecues and nothing to look at apart from other 'yurt' this is the place for you. You could be on Mars, you feel so completely dislocated from Cornwall. Ostensibly served by a spa, swimming pool, and restaurant these facilities are never open when you'd actually want to use them. A restaurant that closes at 6pm and doesn't open until 9am? The blurb would have you think there are views of the sea - and a 15 minute walk to the (gorgeous, awesome) beach. Indeed, downhill. Deep deep downhill....it's about three day's walk back. And don't try driving to Carbis Bay or St Ives as parking costs a fortune. Take the train into St Ives and park at the station for £1.90 all day. The only good thing about 71 Carbis Bay was they allowed me to bring the dog. However, I would not recommend this place for messy dog owners - luckily our dog is always immaculate........
The unit at 71 has two bedrooms, two ensuites, an open kitchen, diner, living area and is mostly white and blue with Cornish inspired furniture and furnishings and would make a lovely museum but I wouldn't want to bring children anywhere near the place (you'd lose your deposit in a heartbeat...). We were allowed a key for the unit - yes, ONE key - which made life extremely difficult logistically.
The unit abuts a building site which the management have tried to hide with a mural which has disintegrated leaving views of ugly rubble and rubbish.
As a location to explore Cornwall it's excellent - we were at the Eden Project in an hour - and explored the whole coast (except Lands End) with our National Trust tickets (imperative in Cornwall). Cornwall is wonderful but I would never stay at Una Argentum again.

Management Response
12 May 2016
We are sorry Una Argentum did not meet your expectations as hoped. I believe one of my colleagues has been in touch with yourself regarding our investigations into the points raised and raised them with others where necessary. We are pleased to hear though you were able to enjoy the accommodation with your dog and the location to many of Cornwall's attractions. We hope we can welcome you back to Blue Chip Holidays in the future and exceed your expectations.
