Located in the heart of St. Ives, Shutters is a fantastic property. The location is perfect for those wanting to explore the beaches, restaurants and shopping in St. Ives. Visited with my wife and son.
Parking is not available at the property but purchased a Cornwall parking Rover Pass that allowed us to park very close to the property and at locations throughout Cornwall that we used during our stay at the many attractions in the area.
Arrived at the property on a Saturday and very easy to find. Instructions from the owners were very helpful. Found the property to be very clean and well stocked. Beds in each of the bedrooms were very comfortable and it was outstanding having three bathrooms each day when we were rushing off early each morning to explore Cornwall.
I greatly appreciated the location as it was in the heart of St. Ives. Less than 30 seconds to get to the beach, and just minutes away from restaurants and shopping. Very rarely did we have to use the car and that was only to explore St. Michaels Mount, Lands End, Minack, and Penzance. Also very short walk to enjoy the South West Coastal Path.
Greatly enjoyed our stay, and will book again in the future.
We visit st ives 2/3 times a year and have stayed in many places. This cottage was just perfect, it had everything and was by far the nicest we have stayed in. It has everything you need and is in the location we always try to stay. Jenny is very approachable and will answer any queries you have.. you wont be disappointed if you book here
We recently stayed at Shutters with our 11 and 13 year old boys and we LOVED the house. To begin with, the owners were really friendly, helpful and easy to deal with through booking to arrival. The house itself is in a great location, quiet yet close to the beaches. We found it to be a real home from home with everything you need and more! I even managed to get my 13 year old off his phone to play some games and do some jigsaws! The house is really quirky so the kids thought it was amazing and didn't want to leave. Everything about our stay at Shutters was wonderful, the pictures don't do it justice. We have been coming to St Ives every year for about 8 years now and this is by far the nicest house we have stayed in.
The Shutters is so quirky, perfectly equipped with lots of little living spaces for the family to do their own thing and what an amazing location, seconds walk from the Main Street and right in the middle of 3 beautiful golden beaches. St Ives is totally idyllic, a slow pace, lovely weather and so much to see and do. Definitely worth our 12 hour drive from Scotland!!
Gorgeous, really quirky cottage full of character, kids 11 & 14 delighted !
Loved the set out and the ground floor shower facility, great for washing/drying wetsuits. Dining/kitchen area fab, llovely for eating/playing games. Bedrooms lovely and cosy, each having own bathroom. Everything thought of and catered for, We Loved it !!!
I cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful little cottage and it's wonderful hosts.
We arrived on a Friday afternoon in September and parked the car at Island car park (as we were there until Monday we purchased a 4 day ticket which was £7.50 for every 24 hours). The car park was a 2 minute walk from the cottage and we had no problem parking there in September.
The cottage itself was immaculate, there was ample space for 4 adults, plenty of storage and even tea/coffee and milk- with a box of chocolates also!
The cottage is so uniquely designed and they've really made the most of the space. The decor is lovely too- beach themed with lots of lovely old beams in the master bedroom and original slash windows.
I think the best thing about 'Shutters' though has to be it's location- a 3 minute walk through lovely old narrow streets to Porthgwidden beach and 30 steps from Porthmeor! The location is just amazing for all of St Ives' shops, cafes and restaurants however, the cottage is on a very quiet lane.
We can't wait to go back!!
