“Superb!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2012

Just returned from a 4 -night stay at the Roundhouse Barn. This is not a run-of-the-mill B & B; you really do feel like house guests. After being shown our spotless and well-appointed bedroom (the Minnack), Barbara and Mark then offered us home-made, freshly-baked scones with jam and cream (and we didn't say 'No'!). Questions about places to eat in an evening were followed up by Mark kindly ringing and making reservations at our chosen restaurants (the Watch House in St Mawes was a definite winner), though the wonderful breakfasts on offer at the Roundhouse are hard to beat. Returning from a walk, you will be asked if you would like a pot of tea or coffee; they are not intrusive hosts, but warm and very hospitable ones. You are not only given a key to your room but also a key to their home, which marks this place out as a 5-star experience.

Just back from four very enjoyable days spent at the Roundhouse B&B.

The accommodation was comfortable and of very high quality. The room over looked the pretty garden and countryside. The breakfasts were lovely, plenty of fruit and choice of cooked with a "special dish" each morning.

Our hosts Barbara and Mark made us extremely welcome and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. They have a wonderful home and for us it was the best B&B we have stayed in.

We shall most definitely return but sadly it will not be until next year!

(Firstly, an apology that this review is almost a year late!) From the moment my wife and I arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. We were greeted by Barbara and shown to our cottage - The Dairy. It was absolutely lovely! Spacious, cool, minimal. And to top it off, they'd placed a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for us (it was our honeymoon!) - a touch that no other self-catering location has ever done - we felt very blessed. The bathroom was simply fantastic - the spacious, rain shower was heavenly. The views were also great and on one occasion we walked along to the Trelissick Gardens (across the Prince Harry ferry). On the first morning, the courageous dog was waiting outside our door looking in with longing eyes - I'd made a friend! Barbara and Mark were so hospitable throughout the entire stay answering every little question we had which again, is something hard to find. Even as far as allowing us to stay to one extra night in a B&B room, the breakfast was sensational.
Mark and Barbara, thank you ever so much for our first holiday together, making it worry-free and enjoyable. We will most certainly be back!

We arrived early but were still made very welcome. Accommodation 1st class with lovely homely touches. A great base for exploring the area with fantastic breakfasts to start the day. Barbara and Mark had great local knowledge and nothing was to much trouble.

Room Tip: The 'Fal' had a wonderful large comfy bed with good views of the garden.

The Roundhouse Barn was exactly as described on their website. Its a beautiful haven tucked away on the Roseland Peninsular. We stayed in the Minack b & b room. It was like stepping into a 5 star hotel room - just perfect and with lots of special touches including a welcome card from the owners Barbara and Mark. Don't hesitate to stay here, either in the b & b rooms or the cottages - you won't be disappointed and .........you're worth it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our B&B break at Roundhouse Barns. We stayed in the Minack, which was spotlessly clean and had a modern en suite bathroom. The room looked out over the garden and was quiet and comfortable and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The extra little touches and attention to detail made our stay memorable. Barbara was a wonderfully friendly host and we felt more like house guests than paying customers. The breakfast was first rate with every choice imaginable, fresh fruit and locally sourced ingredients cooked to order. Our one complaint - we could only stay for three nights!

We stayed last year and such a brilliant stay - highlights included the food on arrival, high spec kitchen, great sized bed, lounge with books/games/DVD/sky/fire and then fab guide book with easy satnav details for all the places to visit. V pretty location with walk down to water - only cherry on top would have been easier walk to a pub! Wish we go could this year but no have young daughter so not possible (no kids allowed) - saving it for an anniversary!
