“Lovely honeymoon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 September 2012

My husband and I booked this b and b for the first night of our honeymoon. We are so glad we did. We were welcomed like we were old friends, and shown to the most beautiful room. The purple four poster bed was lovely, with fresh flowers on the desk. I can honestly say I have never been in a nicer b and b.
The breakfast was really tasty, served on a hot plate! I cannot reccomend this b and b highly enough,so much in fact I have persuaded my sister to visit!

We have been to Tintagel camping several times and love it there.
This time we chose to stay at a B&B and had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing time at John Lewis's B&B.
John was an excellent host and nothing was to much trouble, always greeting us with a smile and a laugh.
The room was lovely and clean, we stayed in the Turret Room which was spacious and very comfortable, with a beautiful four poster bed.
Every morning you are set up for the day with a huge traditional breakfast, but if that's not your thing there is a wide range of cereals and fresh fruits.
Keep up the good work John, many thanks for a lovely stay.

We were travelling in a group of four (one couple plus two of our friends) and spent one night in Tintagel to visit the castle and the old post office in good time.
Booking was easy and spoke of great trust towards the Lewis's guests, as no credit card numbers or other identification were asked. Check-in was friendly and professional, and the rooms were simply beautiful. My boyfriend and I stayed in the turret room with a four-poster-bed and lovely antique furniture, and apart from the coffee/tea making facilities, there were loving details such as freshly-cut flowers. The bathroom was modern and clean. Parking space was provided behind the house. A cute orange cat added a feeling of a home away from home.
Breakfast, served by the landlord, was delicious and served in the same heartfelt manner as before. After a week of self-catering, the B&B really proved our sanctuary, and we will definitely come again.
Dinner recommendations for the nearby Cornishman's Arms were excellent. The food was very good. All thumbs up for Lewis's.

Myself, my husband and son stopped at Lewis's during last October half term and it has become one of those places that we needed to go back to! It was my birthday in August so my husband booked for us to spend the night there again. John knew it was my birthday and spoiled me rotten - all his attentive extra touches really go the extra mile and are so appreciated. We stayed, as last time, in the Rose Room and were able to take advantage of the balcony. Everything was spotless and breakfast fantastic. We had a lovely couple of days in the area and came back feeling so relaxed as though we had been away for much longer. I may well move there permanently!

Room Tip: We have only stayed in the Rose Room - quiet, quite spacious and with a small balcony.

Having spent the day traveling through Cornwall we were eager to make it to Tintagel. Lewis's was easy to spot, but since parking was unsure we temporarily pulled into the church across the street. Turns out the gated drive is adjacent to Lewis's house so feel free to park in front of the gate while John checks you in. The house itself is several hundred years old and decorated very nicely. The rooms upstairs are well-kept and comfortable, plenty of room to stretch out and unpack. Everything was within walking distance. The beginning of the hike to the Tintagel ruins is a short walk down the street, but there are alternate routes through the woods & fields, especially if you want to visit the old church (highly recommended). Breakfast was in the traditional Cornish style and well-prepared. Be sure to eat plenty if you plan on hiking that day! Shops close fairly early and we found the Cornishman Pub to be a pleasant place to eat for our family. What a great stay!

John is the perfect host. Very clean, comfortable and friendly. The house is full of character, quiet and relaxing and is the perfect location for the SWCP. A lovely stay, thank you. Would highly recommend this B&B. Thank you.
