“Back in the thirties”

A hotel with a beautiful view at the sea. And it has the sverige of the thirties, fourties. Even the people who are coming there. And the kitchen is very good. It is very relaxed to stay there and to talk with the most older people there. They can tell you a lot of stories in the old fashioned lounge.. Enjoy youre stay. I am hope to come back soon there.

Room Tip: Room at the backside, and upstairs. You have tham a lovely view at the sea.

Stayed one night here whilst travelling around Cornwall. The welcome was very friendly although the owners had two irish wolfhounds which also welcomed us.this could be off putting if you're not a dog lover. We had to go back into the village to eat as the restaurant was not open on Sunday evening however the breakfast was very good and service delivered in a delightful way by the Co owners with nothing being too much trouble. The only thing I would improve with the accommodation would be the en suite. The shower was very small and basic and having the washbasin in the room instead of the en suite was a bit awkward.

Get in quick before your hosts realise how much they are undercharging for your stay! This small private hotel gave us a large comfortable room with a good en-suite. We were jovially welcomed by the owners who had our bags taken to our room before we could even ask for that service. There was no extensive range of toiletries nor was the linen changed every day but that was no problem. Accommodation is classic rather than modern, with large solid furniture.
A great 'full English' breakfast (options available) cooked to order with a wide range of fruit, cereals, etc on the side came with a cheery smile from the helpful staff and dinner was well cooked with a good size menu, large portions & first class ingredients - all in an immaculate dining room. A reasonably priced bar came with a good selection of reasonably priced wines; this led out into a neat garden with views of the coast. Right next to the coast path and dog friendly this would be great for walkers. There is an inside pool & sauna but we did not see these so no comment.
Plenty of parking.
Word of warning, Tintagel/Bossiney is only reached by narrow roads and don't trust your sat nav - read your map first then follow the road signs to Tintagel.

Room Tip: We were in the old part so cannot vouch for the extension rooms but we were very happy.

My wife took me here for my birthday weekend on the bank holiday at the beginning of may and we had an utterly delightful time.

Owners were friendly and accommodating, rooms spotless and clearly recently renovated. Breakfast superb with each order being freshly cooked (no stale food under hot lamps here) together with a HUGE fruit and cereal buffet.

We traveled with our two whippets and were given a room with a patio area which was just superb.

Have no hesitation in recommending this place whatsoever.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I stayed at Bossiney house hotel for a two-night break on the magical north coast of Cornwall. Through staying there we had everything we needed - a short walk to Tintagel and the gorgeous coastline, a swimming pool and sauna, and very welcoming hosts who provided excellent food and other home comforts.

Thanks for having us - we hope to return soon!!!

We stayed at Bossiney House for two nights over the Easter bank hols arriving on the Thursday we were met by Sean who was lovely he made us feel welcome, Sean made us a pot of tea even though we had tea making facilities in our room this was a lovely touch. Our room was beautiful which overlooked the valley and sea.Breakfast each morning was a real treat which included a daily! Which included scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and capers on a muffin and eggs benedict ..mmm delicious there were various fresh fruits , yoghurts, cereals and pastries, the homemade banana bread was a real treat all were beautifully presented.Bossiney House is situated at the top of Boscastle there is a lovely narrow lane which leads down to the village however it's a steep walk back up ! At the top of the lane across the junction there is the Napolean Inn where you can partake in a well deserved drink. The pub is a welcoming old pub which is about 100m from the hotel.Great to pop across for an evening meal.Fantastic hotel well worth a sleepover!

We have just returned from the Bossiney House Hotel (Easter weekend 2013) and I can report that after a five hour journey, which I was not looking forward to, the welcome from Mike and Angus (the Deer hound) was first class, we immediately felt at home and relaxed. The hotel is situated in an ideal location for exploring the fantastic, wild, yet beautiful coastline, the views are awesome, every twist and turn in the coastal path reveals something different, a joy to behold. The Hotel is clean and comfortable, the food in the evenings is first class and reasonably priced, and we could not fault the attentiveness and friendliness of the owners and the staff. We may have been lucky but the guests at the time were also very friendly.
On the downside, the buffet breakfast means that if you're not serving yourself shortly after the food is cooked, it does get a little dried out under the 'keep warm' lights.
A 5 minute walk takes you to the village of Tintagel by road or 10 mins by coastal path, where traditional Cornish pasties can be consumed by the ton, and I must say are excellent, there are plenty of watering holes, my favourite the King Arthur, and loads of 'tat' shops, but all in all a fantastic place to visit.
One word of warning to inexperienced walkers, the terrain can be quite difficult, especially if wet, there are steep descents, albeit not long, along the coastal paths and some quite, short yet steep climbs. A walk to Boscastle is a must. (There is a bus back to Tintagel if required)
Oh there is a swimming pool at the Hotel but we did not use it so cannot comment.
