“One night but a good one!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 October 2013

My Family stayed here in September, just for a night! We had a very warm welcome here even though we did arrive late! Accommodation was tidy, Clean and very fitting for Cornwall (Classic country) Grounds were very nice and the view from the bedroom was great to wake up to. We didn't have time to check out the Pool? The breakfast was close to amazing with a well cooked English and a well stocked buffet on selection. Great coffee and good company at breakfast! The owners where very pleasant and the other guest seemed to be very happy too. All just a short distance from the town.

Would recommend this Hotel to friends for a stay anytime and if we return to Tintagel we will return to this Hotel above any other!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view as it is great!

The hotel is easy for access and easy to find. That is where the benefits end. Small outdated rooms, the beds was ridiculously small and falling apart with really bad springs. The room had one power point so if you wanted to charge your sat nav, phone, you had to unplug the television/kettle to do so. The owners have two large Irish setters which have complete free roam of the hotel, so when carrying bags down the stairs, this was a major problem as you couldn't see the dogs sitting on the stairs. They sat everywhere, bar, restaurant, sofas, which left you with rough grey hair on your clothes. The only redeeming aspect of the place was the restaurant next door. The food was superb.Won't stay there again and would stay at a B&B in the village instead. Very disappointing and certainly not worth the money charged.

We have just returned home from the most fantastic 3 night break at this lovely hotel. I cannot praise highly enough the care and efficiency that we experienced. The room, number 5, far exceeded our expectations it was beautiful with a lovely extra bedroom and superb shower room, stunning views and absolutely spotless. The food was fresh, plentiful and served in the lovely restaurant the evening meals were a diners delight, special mention has to be made of breakfast where the buffet table was full with fresh fruit, cereals, croissants, yogurts, all to be followed by a wonderful cooked breakfast, weight watchers beware! Mike and Mary were the most friendly, amusing hosts, just nothing was too much trouble, kindness personified. Tina, a very convivial waitress and clearly a very important part of a hard working and dedicated team. I have to make mention of the gorgeous deerhounds, Carrigan and Angus who were impeccably behaved and gave great amusement. Sadly the time went by too quickly and we never did get chance to use the lovely pool, or play pitch and putt..........next time.

Having stayed in a lot of hotels both business and leisure I always try and be construcrive in my reviews

I cant fault the service we received at the hotel, all the staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast was very good with full english on offer and a wide continental buffet. This set us up for a long day of walking along the coast path and into Tintagel both of which were only a short walk away.

The bedroom was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean and very quiet!

My only suggestion to the hotel would be to update the bathrooms, the shower was very dated with the water pressure being very poor. The carpet in the bathroom had also seen better days, my view is that carpet doesnt really belong in a bathroom.

With an upgrade to the bathrooms this hotel would go from B+ to A grade

All in all I would recommend this to everybody who was after a quiet and relaxing base in North Cornwall

We felt a little trepidation as we neared Tintagel but it was a very quaint town. Bossiney House was a lovely place to stay. The staff were very friendly, the bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was outstanding! Well worth the visit to Tintagel and Bossiney House.

Room Tip: Am not able to advise as didn't see any other rooms in the Hotel.

Probably the best thing about the hotel is the superb location and just a few minutes walk to the coast path and all the stunning scenery. Also, the town centre is only about five minutes away. our room was comfortable and clean and only let sown by poor bathroom that had an old fashioned shower cubicle.

We didn't eat in the evening but the breakfast buffet was very good with great service. The place feels family owned and is very welcoming.

Room Tip: we had a downstairs room as had a dog and easy exit through french windows

I stayed here over bank holiday weekend with a couple of friends. I was a little concerned about the location for travelling around south Cornwall but these fears turned out to be unfounded, it was easy to have a day out driving down the coast to the home of Doc Martin, Port Isaac, calling in at Padstow to Rick Steins restaurant for light lunch, then onto St Ives around all the tiny tracks. We called into St Just and Sennor Cove, Minack and Porthcurno and made it back to Tintagel for a delicious dinner and a warm welcome from our hosts to relax in the peace of our hotel, not to forget our greetings from Angus and Creegan the friendly deerhounds

Room Tip: I had the corner room views were good bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept in
