“Friendly, small hotel come Inn / Pub”
Reviewed 30 August 2013

As a B & B / Inn this is a well located, clean, friendly place that offers everything one needs for a short stay. The rooms are quite small, but well appointed and clean. The en suite had an excellent shower. The food in the bar / restaurant isn't bad either. We had a very enjoyable stay, thanks to the friendly owner and his staff. The TA was a good base to explore Tintagel which is a nice place to spend a couple of days sightseeing and relaxing, it has some wonderful beaches within walking distance around the coastal paths. You'll need to check the tide table though for best times to visit. There are plenty of other pubs / restaurants close by too.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor at the front do experience some day time street noise when windows are open...

Rather old fashioned interior. Very Slow service, average meals. My mussels were frozen in the middle, with little apology given. There must be better places in tintagel so just go and find them out. Not at all impressed

We were lucky to bag the last room, was the family room, but kindly reduced rate from owner as only two of us staying there. The room was quite small but had every thing we needed and was clean.
Breakfast was a nicely cooked traditional English brecki - plenty of it.
All staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. They were lovely about accommodating our motorbikes and kindly allowed us to leave the bikes and our bike gear at the hotel after we had checked out, so we were able to explore Tintagel on a very hot day without roasting!
overall a lovely place for a brief stopover.
Thank you. xx

We have just spent 2 nights in the four poster room situated at the front of the pub/hotel. Good quality furniture and fittings though bed not everso comfortable. Our room was very clean and the ensuite was spotless. Staff very friendly and accommodating, we arrived quite late but were still able to eat after only a short wait which we were very grateful for. Food excellent, hot and good value, my fillet steak was particularly tasty. Definately more of a pub atmosphere with live music but not to the detrament of our stay. Would definately stay again.

I see some people didn't have a great time here I cant imagine why. We arrived well to early 3 hours. The young lad said no problem your car is fine on the car park and you room is ready any way. Shown to the room its spotless then are asked if we would like our luggage bought to the room. The breakfast is great you do not need any thing else until tea time. My advice book a table for an evening meal this place has a very good reputation for quality food and good prices they turn so many people away because so many want to dine there. The gentleman who takes the orders for breakfast is great full of life and will help you with anything from what you want for breakfast to where to go on a day trip out. Couple of comments on here suggest the breakfast is unhealthy and disgusting. It does say room and full English breakfast when you book it. That's exactly what I would want in a English hotel on holiday. Not a Croissant and a slice of grapefruit pretending to be someone I'm not. Overall fantastic stay would I go again yes I would

Room Tip: we stopped in room 9 bay window looking out in to the street

The positive is that most of the staff are helpful and friendly. Beds are very uncomfortable, bathroom was clean. The quality of food is really poor. Breakfast was disgusting, unhealthy with no choice. Our table was sticky every morning. It is more english pub than a hotel.

My wife and I went here for our evening anniversary meal.
the staff started out friendly but it became apparent that they really didn't care.
the food that was very highly priced compared to the rest of the village took 35 minutes to arrive. when it did turn up we had to ask for some sauces as none were offered. the waitress was not happy that we asked and continued serving other people. she even went back behind the bar to serve before finally bringing out a small dish of sauce.
the food was awful. badly presented surf and turf, that was cold and dry. looked like it had been sat in the kitchen 20 minutes. the chips were hot but were just fries from the freezer. the veg (which we had to share!!!) was also cold. when the waitress arrived with the sauce we mentioned the problems and the response was bad. basically said it was hot when she brought it out and I was making it up. they did not offer anything else, just took our plates and made us feel very uncomfortable. the man at the bar kept staring and so did the others sat there.
we left very disappointed and hungry.
our plan was to return here for breakfast the following morning, but as you can imagine, we didn't!
I would not recommend this place for food. there are much better places in Tintagel to stay and eat.
