“The best B&B in Tintagel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2013

This is not the 1st time we have stayed with Sandy & Vic & it definitely won't be the last!!
This is our 7th year coming to Tintagel. We visit at least 3 times a year & never want to go home. Sandy & Vic will move heaven & earth to meet your needs should it be something different for breakfast or something's is broke they will go out of there way to help you!
Breakfast, we have tried the full English only once in all our visit & couldn't manage it, so we ask for something different & it's never to much trouble. I normally have fruit & yogurt my husband tries something different this visit its fish & rice & has always its not a problem!! We try & get the garden room has we always bring the dog, but it doesn't matter what room we have they are all clean & got everything you need from tea making facilities, toiletries to needle & thread to sew a button back on!!! The dog well they spoil her rotten, has with any 4 legged visitor to there home, she has a sausage every morning & Sandy will do chicken & rice for her tea has she is getting on!
If we go shopping in Plymouth or Truro Vic offers to take the dog for a walk rather than us taking her with us! You will not get this service or welcome anywhere else!!!

My wife and I have stayed in Bed and Breakfast establishments back home in Canada on numerous occasions, but none compared to our stay at The Cottage Tea Shop in September, 2012. Our good friends, Anne and Alan Hobdey booked this charming place ahead of time in order to get two of four rooms available for the four of us. The warm, friendly atmosphere expressed in their literature was quite evident the moment you met the proprietors, Sandy and Vic Cooper. They made sure that our stay was going to be unforgettable. From the tea/coffee available upon our arrival to the immaculately clean room, to the hearty continental breakfast, Sandy and Vic were there to ensure our time in Tintagel was well spent. They even suggested the best place to eat, shop, etc. in town. During their conversations with us, Sandy and Vic gave us a little background on their adorable Tea Shop. Here is a short exerpt of what they said:
"This year (2012) marked our 31st year as owners. We are originally from London, but decided to change our lifestyle by buying this 500 year old cottage with a tea shop. We originally had three letting rooms and an evening restaurant which operated until 2005. Since then we have slowed down a little so that we would have more time for our guests and our hobbies."
It is couples like Sandy and Vic who truly maintain the true sense of hospitality in an enchanted land far away.

We had a fab night here towards the end of our hols. Vic and Sandy are prefect hosts, the B&B is lovely, rooms are well arranged, clean and well looked after and the breakfast was tasty, massive and by far the best one of the hols. Cant recommend too highly. We would definately stay again.

I agree with the previous reviewer - what can you say when everything is perfect?!

Sandy & Vic are the perfect hosts, very friendly and welcoming and a waiting cup of tea after a day out was a definite bonus! The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the breakfasts are superb! I defy you to eat it all, we asked for a small one as we'd stayed before but it was still very substantial but we saved money on lunch!!!

The B&B is ideally placed in the heart of Tintagel so you don't have to use your car on an evening if you dont want to plus there is ample parking too so it ticks all the boxes for me!

All in all, a very enjoyable stay and we are looking forward to returning.

Not much to say, when it's all GREAT !!! The owners Sandy and Vic are absolutely wonderful. We have been several times and NOTHING is too much trouble. So nice to be pampered by people who really care. Lovely room, superb breakfast ...and tea and coffee waiting whenever we returned from a day out. 10 out of 10 .

Room Tip: We always stop in annexe at bottom of garden.
