We found this B&B from a trusted travel guide. However, it was not what we expected. It is located in an idyllic setting--a little valley off of a wooded road in the midst of lush foliage very close to Tintagel. It was tricky to find as you cannot see it from the road, and must rely on wooden signs nailed to trees, and must then be daring enough to venture from your car to walk down a slick pathway down to the cottage. Once at the front gate, the owner greeted us at the door with few words and showed us immediately to our room. She never introduced herself, and never asked for our names. The room was comfortable yet dated and was certainly "well worn". Through that evening, the next morning at breakfast, and checking out, we barely spoke to the innkeeper, but instead conversed through notes mysteriously left on the dining table. The entire atmosphere was spooky--with the worldless, invisible innkeeper and run down cottate it had a haunted house feel. This was such a shame because the cute cottage would have so much potential if a little care was taken with it.
