“Amazing weekend”
Reviewed 4 May 2017 for a stay in April 2017

A group of us goes away every year and this by far has been the best experience. The welcome was amazing, scones, cream and tea. The kids particularly enjoyed the play room and outside space trying to catch fish in the stream. The football table needs 50p which we weren’t aware off. So unfortunately we were not able to use it much. All money put inside goes to charity though.
The kitchen is well equipped and you will find everything you need. All was in very good condition too. I would recommend bringing your own spices and condiments as well as additional toilet paper. We run out fairly quickly of what was provided (not an issue at all, just good to know ;-) )
The area is great for walking and we have been out all weekend walking the coastal path towards Tintagel and further. It would be great to return and explore the area more in the future.
As a side note: the bedrooms on the 1st floor are great but you do hear everything that goes on downstairs through the floor boards. Again this was not an issue for us, but it might be worth considering sending those lighter sleepers to the top floor.
Thank you once again Tracy and Patrick for making this perfect.

“Delightful Hideaway in a secluded valley”
Reviewed 30 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We stayed at Trout Leap Cottage; uppermost of the four properties belonging to the Trevillett Mill chain within The fantastic Rocky Valley.
The cottage itself was fantastic and very well equipped and left us wanting for nothing.
Tracey, who looks after the cottages provides a delicious Cornish Cream Tea on arrival and is on hand to help if required.
The Bedrooms were extremely comfortable and bathrooms finished to a modern high standard. The Living room provided all the required gadgets to keep adults & children occupied, including Freesat TV, DVD & Bluetooth music dock. Although the lack of Wifi may be a problem for the Teenage visitors; If they cant live without it all the Local Pubs have free Wifi.
Our initial concerns of being close to the road were unfounded as the road noise was minimal to nothing, and proved very peaceful.
The walk down to the sea through the Rocky Valley itself, was a delightful stroll through a Fairy Glen and you can see the remains of the old mill and find the Iron-age carvings that can only be found here in Rocky Valley.
Some good circular walks to be made both inland and coastal from the cottage or day trips to local beaches such as Trebarwith Strand, Widemouth Bay and Boscastle are recommended.
Tintagel is not very far to walk, but initially uphill from Trout Leap. We found the car-parks were free after 5:30pm so for evening meals in the pubs and restaurants it made sense to drive. By this time the centre is a lot more relaxed.
Try to take in the sunset over Tintagel Castle from the Castle Hotel, awesome.

All in all, I would recommend this cottage and its dog friendly too.

“Cute cottage in a magical location”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Trout Fry, the smallest of the properties at Trevillet Mill. We were met the moment we arrived with the keys and greeted by a lovely cream tea. The cottage is very cute, especially the romantic fairylit hayloft bedroom.

Pros: The location is extraordinary, right at the top of the Rocky Valley which was absolutely breathtaking. It's about a 25 minute walk to the nearest pub which was great and possible to do after dark if you're careful, our favourite was the Cornishman Inn but the other cute looking one wasn't open on a number of the evenings. The walks we went on were fantastic and the very close St Nectan's Glen waterfall is a must. Dogs are allowed and our little mutt had a ball. The place was lovely and clean. Great comms with the owners.

Cons: Access to the bedroom in the cottage is not easy - a very steep stepladder, not a problem for us with a tiny dog but be prepared to leave your four legged pal downstairs for the night if you can't pick him up easily. Bring your own towels! It is clearly in the description but I managed to miss that and so had to buy some, an annoying expense and actually the only place I have ever stayed (excepting hostels) that doesn't provide. This was my own fault though as I didn't read the small print. Kitchen is a little tired decor-wise if I'm being super critical, but it's a very well priced cottage and the rest of the place was really lovely.

Overwall we had a fantastic time and the cons are really niggly bits to bear in mind rather than criticisms, we did not want to leave and would come back in a heartbeat.

“Perfect house in great location to catch up with friends”

We stayed here for a long weekend with friends. The location was perfect with a short walk to the coast along the river path and easy walk up to Tintagel. only a short drive to Trebarwith strand for the beach and surfing or up to Boscastle to explore the village. We enjoyed the large garden and patio which was great for BBQ and chatting with friends around the large table. The rooms were big and beds comfortable and great showers. The kitchen had what we needed and a lovely big oven which produced a great roast dinner.

We stayed at the Mill for the long Easter Weekend, from the moment we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The holiday and the house was everything we could have hoped for, plenty of space,a beautiful cosy log burner which we only used late afternoon for a couple of hours as the Mill was lovely and warm. Attention had been given to every detail. A delicious cream tea on arrival ( very welcome) my Grandchildren had great fun having their 'Easter Egg Hunt ' at the Mill so much room for them to play and a lovely play room to boot . We visited Port Isaac, Boscastle, Bude which were al beautiful. I can't stop talking about the place it was truly the nicest break I have ever had. and have already booked to go there again next year, can't wait!

Thank you Patrick

Stayed here just before Christmas 2015 for 3 nights. Quite simply it was the most picturesque, peaceful, well equipped, spacious yet homely, comfortable and well positioned accommodation we have ever stayed in!! Patrick & Tracy were lovely, helpful and easy to communicate with and the place is very well positioned to access some of the best sights, walks and seascapes Cornwall has to offer both on foot and by car. Can't recommend highly enough!!
