Perfect place to unwind, located 5 minutes walk to the Quayside in Dartmouth.
Angela our host met us on arrival to access the double garage, a massive bonus to have parking in Dartmouth. The accommodation is faultless, immaculately clean, all the facilities are of a very high standard, Angela has thought about every requirement to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Even a welcome bottle of chilled white in the fridge following the journey from Manchester, thank you.
Nearby there are lots of pubs and restaurants to enjoy, our favorites were The Seven Stars and The Dartmouth Arms. we ate twice in both, meals were delicious and good value.
We look forward to returning next year, once again thank you Angela
Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, this delightful apartment is part of a larger period house built into a steep sloping garden. A narrow path leads through an arched, iron gate and winds up the side of the house to first floor level where the private entrance of the aparment leads directly into a bright spacious kitchen. The drawing room is located off the kitchen, as is the double bedroom, and the luxurious wet room is located at the end of a short corridor. On sunny days, you can climb further up the path and enjoy the view over the rooftops from the roof of the kitchen.
The photos do not lie. This is a lovely apartment, and we hope to stay there again but there are some aspects which would not suit everyone. With parking being a bit of a problem in Dartmouth, it is fantastic to have garage accommodation (located under the garden, off the access road) but the lane leading to it is scarily narrow for people more used to the M25! The narrower your car, the better, and if you own something big and fancy, make sure you can fold in your wing mirrors. We loved the narrow winding access path through the beautiful garden but it is steep and has steps in it, and there are a few steps within the apartment. With huge modern skylights in the kitchen and bedroom, the apartment is bright and airy but anyone wanting a view of the Dart would be disappointed as the view from the drawing room is northwards to the houses on the other side of a small valley. It is the same view from the wet room - where I did hope that the people looking towards the house could not see as much as the people looking out of it! The kitchen is well appointed with a ceramic hotplate, electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine but, at the time of writing, there was no microwave. It was, however, a real bonus having the owner on the premises. Nothing was too much trouble. She gave us a lovely, cheerful welcome and was able to help out immediately with a couple of special requirements. I just hope that by recommending this apartment, I don't find it completely booked up next time I want to visit!
