“Taylor's a great place to dine...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

Taylor's of Dartmouth...the only place for lunch in our book. Ideal location on the quay with some wonderful waterside views. We are regular diners and the set lunch menu always pleases with its variety and high quality of food and presentation. The homemade soups are excellent. The confit of duck is a great favourite as is the chicken main course. Desserts of lemon and passion fruit posset; Eve's pudding with custard both make for a perfect end to a classic lunch.
The wine list is extensive and we tried their new Australian Chardonnay which was perfect for a warm and sunny day. Excellent service and a very reasonable price for the quality and experience. A "must dine here" venue.

“So good we went there twice!”

When you're in a place for only two nights, and you find somewhere with good atmosphere, delicious food and friendly staff on the first night, why look elsewhere?

Excellent food and perfectly adequate service. Fair price for a good dinner. Nice atmosphere in the dining room and many tables have a good view over the harbour. Superb cheeseboard.

“Superb food delivered with excellent service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

We have been coming to Dartmouth for several years, but have never eaten here before tonight, what a mistake to make. Looking at previous reviews we followed other reviewers advice and booked our table a couple of days earlier to try and get a window table, although nothing guaranteed at the time it was nice to find we did have a window table when we arrived.

We had a nice warm greeting from the staff, could be the owners, shown to our table and drinks orders taken. I think they may have been training a new waitress, but the young lady was faultless tonight.
We chose starters from the specials list, the squid and green vegetables soup were good and tasty. The mains that followed were superb, sea bream and pan fried liver, never had this before but highly recommended, compliments to the chef.It was all washed down with a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio.
It was a nice relaxed atmosphere and the bonus was been above ground level looking out over the river, all in all a great night. Many thanks.
One small point to note is a small sign on the front door which says not suitable for children under 7, so may be worth enquiring when booking, could be to do with the menu for younger children.
