..... over the top and cloying service. We had booked in advance and since it came up well on Trip Advisor thought it would be a really good experience. It enjoys a really good setting with a huge window overlooking the harbour but it is very small and we found there were too many tables positioned too closely to other tables giving no privacy whatsoever.
Service by two ladies was attentive but over the top.with one of them pitching her voice at ridiculously loud few octaves higher than normal when asking anything so it sounded comic and very false. Service continued to be irritatingly intrusive and unnecessary. It felt patronising ("be careful of that steak knife, it's very sharp"!) and heavy. I almost gave up and walked out at one point.
The food was excellent and made up for the crazy OTT service. However it was not cheap (£100.60 for the two of us) and I would not go back there again.

I'm sorry you didn't like our waitresses, we pride ourselves on our informal, friendly service and the overwhelming majority of our guests and reviewers say they are fabulous - we certainly think so!

Four of us went for dinner last week, fun friendly staff, very good food and wine, two courses each was just right - sorry desert menu it wasn't your fault. Lovely views but would be worth going to without the view. Only in Dartmouth on holiday but will visit the restaurant again next year. Not cheap but worth the money.

What a find! This is a small and intimate restaurant - the food is very special and our waitress has a delightful personality. Don't expect ostentatiousness or pomp - this is a well grounded, non pretentious establishment which could give some of my local Surrey restaurants a run for their money. Well done.

The key things about this restaurant are the wonderful view over to Kingswear, the friendly service and decent food that is quite varied with the c. 6 or 7 choices of mains. The restaurant itself is slightly tucked away being that little bit further along the front, but has a wonderful position in terms of the view from the central table. In my experience of Dartmouth the only place with superior food is The Seahorse but then the cost, and the market in which The Seahorse operates is above Annabelles, and Annabelles is not a seafood restaurant, but does appear to specialise in locally sourced ingredients.

I visited with a family group of seven and were met by a friendly pair that were helpful and not overly intrusive. The food was all good, and with quite a variety of choice and they helpfully adapted the food for children in terms of portion size and content.

This is a very small restaurant, either 4 or 5 tables I think and therefore quite an intimate experience in comparison to most. The only slightly quirky element was that the waitress, possibly Annabelle herself, referred to 'chef' throughout her briefing on the specials in a somewhat Basil Fawlty manner, added to the ambiance of the occasion.

We have been to Annabelles several times and it's always been amazing.
We aways look forward to going back, the food is amazing and the service is second to none.
The crab bisque is the best i have ever had and the pork belly was so tasty.
We can't wait to come back next year and have the experience all over again!
Thank you so much.
