Review of The Picnic Boat

The Picnic Boat
Reviewed 9 August 2013

Lovely trip for 4 of us on the Dart on a beautiful day. The West country picnic was so good, including the homemade bread. We had booked for the previous day which was dull and showery. Kevin rang to suggest we swap to the next day when the forecast suggested warmer, sunnier weather. How thoughtful! Great experience. I expect we'll do it again...

We had an hour and a half on this lovely boat with smoked salmon and dressed crab which was superb. Their home made bread is some of the best I have ever tasted. It was our wedding anniversary so it was a great treat and something which we will remember for a long time. Kevin, the owner is very friendly and pointed out all the celebrity retreats at Dartmouth which is a truely lovely place. Will definately do another trip when we come back to Devon next year.

We had a fantastic trip along the Dart on the Picnic Boat. Poor old Kevin had to put up with 12 of us girls drinking Prosecco but he did a wonderful job. Lovely cream tea and he even let us have a loo stop at Dittisham! Thank you for making Sarah's hen weekend special.

This was a surprise trip for my birthday whilst visiting Dartmouth with friends and family. It was an beautiful, relaxing journey down the river and made very special with the delicious homemade scones and tea. The boat was decorated wonderfully and really made it a great experience. We were welcomed well by Kevin and all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Nothing negative to say. We will not forget the day and it has made it a stand-out birthday!

Booked the picnic boat for a holiday treat and it didn't disappoint. Owner was very friendly and told us about all the sites from the river. Crisps and olives are provided when you board and the boat is very pretty with Cath Kidston tablecloth, bunting and comfy cushions.

The trip takes you up the river dart to Dittisham where we moored up for our luxury picnic. Food was gorgeous, lots of fresh salad, homemade breads, cheeseboard, smoked salmon etc

You can then get off at Dittisham for about 20 mins, do a spot of crabbing and then take a leisurely cruise back down the river to Dartmouth. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. All really enjoyed it.
