“Beach visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2014

Had three lovely days at Blackpool sands, did some paddle boarding and canoeing, food good but bit pricy for a family of 4. Service was slow, so took a picnic for the other visits.

“BEAUTIFUL!”

Beautiful beach in a wonderful part of Devon - definitely worth a visit. Near to Slapton Sands and Salcombe - both worth a visit too!

“Hmmm... 'sands'?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

This area of coast does not have sandy beaches, so don't expect anything other than shingle (except Salcombe). Having said that, we had an enjoyable day - the children liked the sandpits, there are some lovely rockpools and rocks for kids to climb, lots of skimming stones, a proper lifeguard set up to give confidence to swimmers, cubicles to change in and it is well served by shops. Probably the best 'not quite a beach' that we visited.

“Lovely beach but mis named!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

Pricey at £7 to park, but a well stocked beach shop and organised car park. It shouldn't have been called 'sands' though as this is definitely a shingle beach, although it is a 'better'shingle that Slapton !
