We visited here on Monday lunchtime and it was busy. We were lucky to get a table. The staff were effecicent and pleasant. A good full menu which included a good choice of children's meals also. I had crab sandwiches and this came with a side salad, this was good value for money. The interior was decorated all beachy and it was bright and airy.
Nice family lunch on holidays with a cheeky local cider.

We gave it a try after being reccomended by someone in the town, take away portions were very small for the cost, chips were a bit soggy, not crispy at all. Very dissappointing.

The proliferation of fast food outlets like McDonalds means that many folks have forgotten what REAL chips are like.
Potatoes - and the chips that they produce- vary over the year and from one variety to another.

Starch, sugar and moisture content. Storage temperatures, frost - no frost - all affect the way a potato fries.

Sometimes they fry crispy and stay crispy - sometimes they wont crisp at all - sometimes they wont stay hot , but taste divine anyway.

Some of our customer like them double fried - hard and crispy - some like them soggy so that they stick together in one huge clump. Some customers buy them at lunchtime and leave them wrapped in the aga till 5 o clock !! Some microwave them later (yuk) we all like our chips in different ways and sometimes they might not be quite how you like them best but it hardly seems worth a moan. If you desperately want crispy chips - ask and we will double fry them with pleasure

If frozen, crispy, fairly tasteless chips - that pence per ounce are far more expensive than the REAL thing - are what you desire there are many chain restaurants - thankfully not in Dartmouth - that will serve you what you want.
