This was first time for me and a friend at Browns hotel, we had one room at the front, and one at the back. Both rooms were clean, tidy and smart. The gentleman who looked after us was very cheerful, friendly and helpful.
Hotel is smart, and pleasant, my room floor slopped a little, but the bed was level, so it just added character.
The cooked breakfast was excellent, with good quality ingredients, and cooked to order.
I would not hesitate to stay again or recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Visited for two nights. Fantastic welcoming and over all service was first class. Rooms a tad dated but comfortable and clean. Probably one of the finest breakfast you'll get.

Very friendly and obliging. Thoroughly recommend.

I've just spent 2 nights here, and would describe it best as a restaurant with rooms, although my room was nice enough and quiet (5) at the back as requested, since others have complained of late night noise from nearby pubs? The bed was not very comfortable but otherwise room was fine.
We had one meal in the restaurant, and 2 breakfasts, and all were of exceptional quality and I can definitely recommend. The staff were young, efficient, friendly and helpful, with a special mention for Ainsley as she really was super efficient and helpful, working long hours but always smiling.

Room tip: Room 5 is quiet, but not sure mid week if you need to be at the back?

We spent one night in Browns hotel having made a last minute decision to spend a night in Dartmouth and are so glad we did.
We were warmly welcomed and looked after extremely well during our stay. The little complementary extras - water, quality teas and coffees - really make you feel at home. We were there on a Monday night when the restaurant was closed, but complementary drinks for a pre dinner drink and post dinner night cap were left out for guests. Sitting by the fire talking to fellow guests whilst drinking a baileys after dinner was a really lovely touch which further established this as a great and unique hotel.
I have no hesitation is recommending this hotel.

A little gem of a hotel which is which is conveniently tucked away from the main front area. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are extremely helpful and only willing to help - a rare thing nowadays! We would definitely come back to stay should we be in the area.
