Owner description: Take this extraordinary glimpse into the beloved holiday home of the famous and much-loved author Agatha Christie and her family. The relaxed and atmospheric house is set in the 1950s, and contains many of the family's collections, including archaeology, Tunbridgeware, silver, botanical china and books. Outside you can explore the large and romantic woodland garden, with a restored vinery, wild edges and rare plantings, which drifts down the hillside towards the sparkling Dart estuary.

“Lovely gardens and fascinating house”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We regularly take our visitors here by ferry, as parking is very limited, and they love the wander up from the boat to the entrance. The cafe serves delicious lunches in the courtyard and we follow this with a tour of the house showing all Agatha Christie's collections and belongings - you can even play the piano! The gardens are a delight, but sensible shoes should be worn as it is quite hilly and some rough ground in places.

“So much to see”
Reviewed 2 November 2013

Lovely house full of beautiful and interesting objects. Ancient woods all around. House if just above the Dart river which must be one of the loveliest in England. Loved the boathouse. Walled gardens and a small but very decent cafe. Hoping to return though always find National Trust admission steep at £9 per adult.

“Must visit for Agatha Cristie's fans”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

We went to the Greenway house from Torquay by green bus which departs twice a day - at 10 a.m. and at 14 p.m. The driver was amazing! During the trip he read interesting facts from writer's biography and made jokes. Also the beautiful green bus was restored from old vintage red one which was partly damaged. The trip by bus takes about 40 mins. At Greenway house you are not allowed to take photos. In each room there's a guide who explains interesting facts. Also there are scrapbooks in different languages with Agatha's photos which you never find in internet or elsewhere. In the living-room there was a woman playing piano. Two floors are allowed for visiting and on the second floor there are rooms for staying at (though the prices bite). Around the house there's a huge park and in spring the smell of blossoming trees and bushes is so refreshing and charming. There are several magnolias very close to the house. I would advise to spend 4-5 hours to see the Greenway and it's surroundings because we had something like 2 hours and needed to hurry a bit to quickly see the area.

“Beautiful Grounds”
Reviewed 25 October 2013

We took our dog for a lovely autumn walk through the stunning gardens. Just beautiful. The house was interesting and gave a fuller picture of Agatha Christie.

“Nice property and views..”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 via mobile

Wish I'd approached it from Dartmouth by ferry. The house was a bit cramped with the collections. I feel they could do more with the mystery side of her life.
