“Another gorgeous night at Bayards Cove!”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

We just keep coming back to this place! In the perfect location next to Bayards Cove where you can sit with a drink watching the children crabbing and the boats sailing down the River. Great rooms with excellent facilities. Comfy beds, hand made soaps, home made biscuits on the tea tray and good breakfast selection with decent coffee. Lovely touches like a DVD library and books to borrow. Great food served downstairs during the day and some evenings and above all excellent friendly service. We have stayed in 2 of the top hotels in Dartmouth and would still rate this place as our favourite place to stay!

Room Tip: Our favourite room is Nelson especially if you are travelling with children!

A really friendly hotel with the added bonus of being in a really beautiful place and with so much history attached to it. Rooms are lovely with a tea try full of wonderful goodies. Locally sourced food, wonderful choices for breakfast. I can't praze it enough.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here this valentines and it is by far and above the best b&b I have stayed in!
having booked in January with half priced rooms at around £60 it was a bargain.
There was a lot of character to the whole of the building with original beams throughout the winding corridors and in our bedroom (Jervis), in this lovely traditional building.
Bed was comfy and bathrooms modern and clean also the large selection of DVD's available was a great touch, as well as finding the wine I had asked to be kept cold in an ice bucket with some strawberry's on the side.

would highly recommend and visit again!

Room Tip: Jervis was lovely

Beautiful old building near the water front. Room was large and clean and nicely furnished. Unforunately the sound from the bar/cafe below carried up to our room (we could hear every word) until after midnight. Spoilt a lovely stay. May be the rooms at the top are quiter.

Dear guest, thank you for your review and we are very sorry if you had some noise issues. I believe the room you were staying in was Mountbatten which is directly above the restaurant so there can be a bit of noise . Thank you for making us aware of this, and we have now changed our description of the room on our website so future customers will be aware that there can be a bit of noise. I hope this has not put you off coming back, and next time we will make sure you have one of our quieter rooms. Thank you again,

Stylish, comfortable inn. Brilliant staff and very well furnished bedrooms and suites. The Nelson suite is perfect.. Good views and extremely comfy. The breakfasts are hearty and freshly cooked to order. The location is perfect for exploring Dartmouth or using the ferries. We would definitely go back. Thanks for working the Magic!!

Room Tip: Go for Nelson or Mountbatten if possible. There was quite a bit of street noise on Saturday from som...

We stayed here for two nights in January. The whole place is charming: tapas bar cum cafe downstairs with nicely arranged seating areas and a real fire. The rooms were all individual - we had a good look round for future reference - but each was comfortable and interesting. Our shower was excellent quality, the room was warm and the beverages tray was definitely high standard, with cafetiere, teapot, hot chocolate and herbal teas. Our room was called Jervis after Admiral Lord St Vincent: I enjoyed reading about him in the biography that came with the room. There are books and DVDs to borrow, too. The breakfast spread included lovely fruit salad, yogurts, cold meats and local cheeses with excellent artisan bread as well as the bacon and egg option. I had smoked salmon and fluffy scrambled eggs. Everyone who served us was polite and pleasant, a really nice atmosphere.
