“Excellent meal”
Reviewed 10 July 2014 via mobile

A real quaint setting for this friendly restaurant which had received high praise from many. Justifiably so as well. There was a warm welcome and the menu was fully explained if required. Food was very tasty, the kitchen was also visible through glass for that extra touch of theatre. The stair rails were freshly painted and whilst there was a sign warning you it was not too evident until too late, fortunately I only got it on my hand. However, the food was what we went for and would go back for ( paint should be dry by then)

“Oasis in a desert”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Being partial to a good 'Indian' meal and being used to an excellent restaurant at home, my wife and I ate here on Friday 4th July partially for the reason given but also because like many tourist/seaside towns, the standard of food in general is poor, being aimed primarily at the 'fish and chip' brigade who want to watch television whilst eating.

Obviously price also came into the equation as eating at the Dart Marina the following evening on our two night stay there, we wanted something more reasonable on the Friday.

Food, service and ambience was excellent and the very good bottle of Rose was well priced at just under £16.

Perhaps a more refined and modern take on the usual Indian restaurant and perhaps not for those who want a 'curry and lager'.

Will definitely visit again when in Dartmouth.

“Great Indian food”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

My wife and I ate in here twice during the music festival. Firstly we tried the buffet food and on our second visit we ate from the main menu.

We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, who waited on us very well even though the restaurant was very busy. The food quality was excellent and the portion sizes were good. At first sight the restaurant looks to be quite expensive but often rice or sides and included in the dish so we thought the overall value for money was also very good.

Lots of interesting dishes to try, cooked to a high standard and well presented.
