“Disappointing”

The "West Country" cheese platter consisted of three bits of catering style mild cheese that could have been anything . The cost was £8.95 and very poor value . We continued onto Cornwall where we had local cheeses at more reasonable prices . Really poor old fashioned pub food which I thought had disappeared from pubs - a real rip off.

Had a really great lunch here last Saturday when we came on our 'annual Dartmoor trip'. The staff were fantastic and the food excellent. The locals were very friendly and quite happy for us to invade(!) as they had been warned that we were coming. Everything had been pre-booked in advance so there was no hassle about waiting times or seating. The landlord was very welcoming, great local beers straight off the barrel and the food was delicious, proper 'pub grub'. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone.

I have visited this pub every time I go to Devon, which is a couple of times a year. Drewsteignton is where my family originally came from, so this pub bares special significance to me. The food here is fantastic and the beers are terrific, with a nice assortment of local ales. This is a proper English pub and well worth driving out of your way for. It is also a great hotel with a couple of King sized rooms and larger room for families etc. We stayed in one of the King rooms and it was fantastic. The breakfast the next day was excellent.

The new owners have certainly created a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. There is so much character and charm about the place and you can always stay in one of their rooms. If only all villages could have a local like this. Can't wait for our new/t visit.

Lovely original unspoilt pub with many original features. Great food, well kept ales, friendly staff. The new owner (from last Sept) chatted with us and obviously very keen and passionate about the whole business. Great night out , would certainly recommend diverting off the A30 a few miles to visit and enjoy.

Went to the Drewe Arms for dinner this evening and really enjoyed the experience. The welcome was friendly, the food was really good and the beer was well looked after. We've eaten here over the last 15 years but the new owners seem to have got the place back on track. Keep up the good work!

Not to be missed and worth a drive from anywhere. This wonderful pub in Dartmoor has everything you could want complete with fireplaces in several rooms and plenty of cheery locals with their dogs. The food is a cut above typical pub food and is a very good value for your money. The first night we were in Drewsteignton we were encouraged to have fish and chips at the pub for "fish and chips night". Our meals were terrific. So terrific in fact, that we immediately booked a table for their traditional Sunday lunch which was on offer. That too was wonderful and followed up by sticky toffee pudding with all the custard you could possibly want. We will be back, most probably tomorrow night!
