Stayed here as a short stopover on way down to Cornwall. Location is absolutely perfect. Car park close by. Property was warm & close to everything we wanted.

“Noisy drunks will spoil your stay”
Reviewed 18 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Great location for the heart of Exeter, but that also means you will experience all the noise from the drunks spilling out of the city centre pubs, restaurants and clubs around the property. If you enjoy football shanties and street brawls beneath your bedroom window in the early hours this is the ideal location. Just when you do nod off, you'll be awoken by the street cleaning lorries removing the vomit from the city centre pavements before the shopping crowds descend. Comfortable if a little tired fixtures and fittings but the bedroom is cramped and you'll think a helicopter is taking off in the bathroom every time you flush. The expensive cleaning charge is not for a professional clean, but the owner with a bucket and a pair of marigolds. Hence, dusty corners, raisins under the sofa and previous occupant's pooh streaks in the pan. If you want the city centre this is a means to that end but a noisy option.

Management Response
26 Jan 2015
Dear guest, we are glad that you enjoyed the prime location of this apartment. It might help future guests if they knew the truth behind some of these comments.
The reason why you met the owner having to clean is that you did not check out on time - in fact you went out for the day & returned 6 hours after check out time (the contact details you left were false so you could not be called). The extremely patient next guests very kindly agreed to stay with friends until the apartment was ready for check in.
Secondly, the apartment is NOT surrounded by pubs and clubs. The nearest pub is on the High street & is NOT close by. There are no clubs in the vicinity.
Nevertheless, we would happily acknowledge that anyone staying in the very middle of a vibrant city in the middle of the Christmas party season may well hear the odd reveller.
Readers of this review & response might also like to draw their own conclusions from this - we were only threatened with a poor review after telling this guest that the seriously late check out would result in a loss of deposit. This guest is in fact the only one ever to have lost their deposit.

“Clean, modern, convenient; good value.”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

As described, situated between the Cathedral and ruins and the modern shopping precinct, so excellent location whatever your taste. Facilities are well specified (even a nespresso machine!) and the proportions of the flat are generous. I will no doubt stay again when visiting Exeter.

Liked best: Excellent array of gadgets for iPods! Wish I owned one :(
Liked least: In the middle of the city, there can be noise on the street at night, but this is to be expected.

“Graduation trip”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We have stayed in exeter on many occasions staying at 4 of the largest hotels - this was the first time we had stayed at an apartment. Everything was as advertised , very clean, large and plenty of room, very we'll equipped. Could not have been more central and all arrangements clearly communicated by owners.

Now that my daughter has graduated unlikely to return for a few more years but would certainly considered this apartment again.

“Excellent location, very comfortable”
Reviewed 9 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

All was as advertised: great location, very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to both the train and bus stations so easy to visit the surrounding area. We found some wonderful food shops on Magdalen Rd - fish monger, butcher, deli for cheese and other treats, wine merchant.

“Comfortable & Stylish flat in the center of Exeter”
Reviewed 8 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

We spent six great nights at this modern flat located in the Princess Hay Centre, only about a block from the cathedral and within walking distance to shopping and all of the lovely places to visit in Exeter. The flat is also only a few blocks from the "local" train station (you'll arrive from London at the main station and will want to take a cab to the flat, but from the station near the flat you can take day trips to the seaside.) Exeter is a university town in Devon that is on the River Exe and although it was bombed during WWII, the Roman and medieval walls and buildings have been preserved and incorporated into the newer parts of the city. There are great walks along the river and quay that offer a nice escape from the urban center as well as paved paths and trails that go for miles. The flat is very comfortable, with a small, but functional and easy to use kitchen. Exeter is lovely, and with a couple of day trips to seaside towns, we had a wonderful vacation and will certainly visit again.
