A group of us went in mid February, for a leaving 'Do'. We arrived at 19.45, but our food order wasn't taken 'til 20.15, and the food didn't arrive until 21.00.
Some people had theirs well before the rest of us, the food was Mexican style, but bland, and the small amount of meat in each dish was padded out with peppers and onions. The sour cream, guacamole, and salsa only arrived well after everyone had started eating.
We bought at least 4 bottles of the house-wine, which was perfectly acceptable.
After the meal, a waiter asked us if we'd be staying for the live music, as we'd need to pay an extra £3 per person, or buy another bottle of wine, if we wanted to keep the table!!
I've always been led to understand, that the price of the meal includes any entertainment at the venue, unless specifically advertised otherwise.
The artists were reasonable, but the music far too loud(too much base), for the small venue - more the size of an average Pub bar.
I will not be returning.

i used to go here when it was the hub. it wasn't the best place then, but there was live music of any genre and a slightly rocky dingy atmosphere. was a good place to hang out, have a drink, watch a band.

taken over by mama stone, the place nowadays caters entirely for lovers of generic pop/funk, it's too loud and you can't hear yourself think, and it's absolutely full of women who think they look stunning with their copious amounts of fake tan and make up, boob tubes and tiny mini-skirts, and guys in their smart river island shirts and tight jeans, drooling over the 'hot women'. drinks are obscenely priced, you don't get to talk to anyone in there as for a start there's nobody you'd want to talk to, and the music's too loud even if you did. i'll not be going back. ever.

Mama Stone's is somewhere I would definitely return to for the live music but not for the food. I ordered chicken enchiladas which were a bit taseless, no sauce and no advertised refried beans which are no longer on the menu apparently. Our whole group were disappointed with their meals. The staff were lovely but have your meal elsewhere and then go for the music.

Came here for my mothers birthday and it was horrible. The chicken soup was boiled chicken water with dry meat, the nachos were stale and the fajitas were chewy and the tortillas were hard! Not worth the bill.
