We stayed in the Abode Exeter on 23rd December to celebrate my wife's birthday. I booked a "Fabulous" suite, and although fairly pricey, it was a fantastic room.
The room was Immaculately clean and well presented. Whilst there is no mini bar, the amount of freebies thrown in (little petit fois, nuts, crisps, chocolate, mineral water) is excellent.
The bed was simply the biggest and most comfortable I have ever stayed in, and thoughtful touches to the ambient lighting were great finishing touches.
The bathroom was huge - we could have got a football team in the shower, and, again, the quality and quantity of the toiletries was very good.
The room we had over looked the cathedral, which made the view quite special.
We didn't eat in the hotel (we ate in the thai restaurant opposite, and my advice is to give that particular restaurant a miss) but we did have a cocktail or two in the bar. The service in the bar was excellent, and the cocktails were very well made, if somewhat expensive.
Breakfast was really nice too, although served in the brasserie, and not the main restaurant, I didn't have any issue with that.
The staff throughout were courteous and helpful.
I would highly recommend a romantic night away at the Abode Exeter.More
