We have just returned from a two night break as a stopover from Cornwall to Stoke on Trent. After reading some of the recent reviews I think we must have stayed at a different hotel! On arrival, the receptionist could not have been more pleasant or helpful. With regard to the language "problems" - what problems? All staff had foreign accents but their command of English was excellent. We had no difficulty whatsoever in understanding any of them. On arrival we were given a map of the city, asked if we wanted the wifi password (why is everyone unable to spend a couple of nights without the internet?), and asked if we wanted help with our bags. We had a room at the back of the hotel and did not notice any road noise - even though we had the window wide open as the hotel was rather warm. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful, with a good choice and the servers were again pleasant and helpful.
We will certainly stay there again.

We stayed here on our Wedding night with several other rooms being booked by family. We found absolutely no faults and even had flowers and a card from the staff when we arrived. Would recommend this hotel and stay again.

just one night but faultless. The room was quite unusual and quirky as it was on the second floor and formed part of the roof. A quick bang on the head soon told me to watch out for the rest of the stay. That aside the room was spotlessly clean and quite recently refurbished and maintained to a very high standard. The staff were Polish, very friendly and helpful. Payment was asked for on arrival and before seeing the room. This was my only issue for the stay. The full English breakfast was included in a very reasonable 76 pounds for the double room. Location was on a main road but just 10 minutes walk from the city and plenty of free off street parking. We will definitely return to the same hotel to see the rest of the city.

We had a weekend here and the hotel was fine. Our room was at the back of the hotel, but thought the slight road noise was perfectly acceptable for a city centre hotel. The bed whilst there was nothing wrong with it, per se, it was horribly uncomfortable and smacked of cheap bed. Breakfast was Ok, but the staff need to learn not to try and clear the plates whilst one of the party is still eating.
The shower however was excellent, although very small.
For a weekend the hotel was fine, but for longer I would not stay here. For roughly the same money you could stay in a Premier Inn, and next time I'm in Exeter, that's exactly what I'll do.

This is a decent business hotel. The room I had was a single and if you intend to swing cats or even a solitary cat you will have one (or two) unhappy felines. However ; if you want a clean, reasonably appointed room for not a bad price it's fine. The road outside is fairly busy and, since where I live it's very quiet, I couldn't sleep with the windows open. Breakfast is ok but not great, staff very good and friendly Easter Europeans. Parking available. I think for the price and cleanliness it is worth a bit more than average.
