Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

This was our 2nd visit to Alpine park cottages having been the previous year we returned along with my wife's parents, sisters and their families and between us booked 3 cottages. Located a short drive from lots of local attractions like escott park and some great beaches too, it makes an ideal base for a holiday. The accommodation is clean and tidy and the cottages overlook a good sized grassy area with a small park and a number of outdoor games like extra large connect 4 and is big enough for a good game of football. Having now been twice we really can't fault this place and would happily go back again. I would recommend this to anyone with kids who want a good value for money holiday base in Devon.

Desperate to find accommodation back in Feb, we came across Alpine Park Cottages via Trip Advisor and the excellent feedback gave us the confidence to book.

Being a bit of a clean-freak, I always like to stay somewhere clean and tidy knowing I don't have to spend the first couple of hours cleaning the accommodation. This accommodation was perfect!!

The lodges are very well presented situated around a delightful children's play area. You can see from the moment of arrival that there is great care taken to ensure the facilities are of a very high standard!

We were greeted by Sally, who was very welcoming and full of local knowledge.

The lodge was exceptional! Just simply a home from home for us. Plenty of attention to detail and beautifully clean.

There are 11 lodges however each one is very private and over looks the play area. Even the bin and recycling areas were the cleanest I've ever seen!

It was such a pleasure to see the cleaning activities around the park as people vacated, to know that every effort is made to make your stay as great as can be. Curtis watering the hanging baskets and emptying the bins daily, plus keeping the grounds so tidy. Not an easy job, I'm sure, but done with such dedication!

The lodge was a great base for visiting the region.

Exeter - great for shopping. The cathedral a must to visit too!

Sidmouth - lovely pebbled beach and some shops. We also took a visit to the lifeboat station where we had a lovely chat with the lady there. A very interesting place and she also let our 5 year old try on the lifeboat pilot's helmet. He was very proud!

Exmouth - lovely sandy beach.

Dartmoor National Park - great for a walk and lots of smaller walks for younger children. Fantastic views.

Lyme Regis - although in Dorset, great for the Jurassic Coast. We went fossil hunting and managed to find two, a lovely sandy beach and great views.

We had a great time and are hoping to return next year. Our 5 year old was so sad to leave but that's because we had such a great time.

Huge thanks to Sally, Curtis and Helen for such wonderful accommodation!

Love this place! Ideal location, high standard of accommodation and the owners are very welcoming and take great care of the site. Always clean and seems to be updated every year, the grounds are well maintained and safe for children to play. The sandy beach at Exmouth is a short drive away as are Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exeter (all great for exploring and cream teas!). There are plenty of activities near by especially walking along the coastal paths. Have been here 4 years in a row now and would be happy to recommend this place to friends and family. Thanks for another lovely holiday!

Room Tip: We went in a large group and could see that all the rooms seemed of a similar standard. Which ever...

Just returned from our 4th visit & can say with confidence that it won't be our last! The standard of accommodation is extremely high; the cottage was very clean & tidy will a feel of home from home, also the communal areas are to the same high standard.

The owners are superb & will do whatever they can to help, even if it means Curtis had a shadow all week in the form of my 5 year old son!!

Highly recommended accommodation set in a beautiful part of the country with plenty to do in the surrounding areas.

Thanks again for a brilliant holiday

Just returned from another holiday at Alpine Park Cottages. Fantastic accommodation of a very high standard (which is being constantly improved and renewed rather than becoming dated and drab like a lot of places) spacious cottages with decent sized bedrooms and the 6 berth cottages also have a separate toilet. There is a large green in the middle of the cottages which is perfect for children to play whilst still being in your sight. Great base to visit Devon's beautiful coastlines and towns and villages and very friendly helpful owners. Would highly recommend.

We have stayed at Alpine Park Cottages for the last 3 years and it is by far the best place we have stayed at for a holiday in the UK. The chalets are wonderfully clean, modern, equipped with everything you could need, and the welcome tray is the icing on the cake, along with the washing-up liquid!! The park is near to a main road, but the noise doesn't bother you. My wife and I stayed in Chalet 9 this year with our dog, Rascal, a Shih-Tzu. He enjoyed just lazing around the Chalet, as well as finding out all the new sniffs around the site on his daily morning and evening walks round the Park. Sally and Curtis, along with their daughter, Helen, have the site running like clockwork through hard work, and always have a smile for you and take time to have a chat. The surrounding area is full of really nice places to visit. This year we went on the train from Exeter, down to Dawlish and Teignmouth, two beautiful towns really worth visiting. The train journey takes you right alongside the sea. We also did the round robin trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Cruise. Fantastic! Add to those trips the lovely seaside towns of Sidmouth (our favourite) Budleigh Salterton, and Exmouth, and you have all you could wish for in a holiday. (the wall-to-wall sunshine helps too!!) We have really enjoyed our last 3 years here, and will definitely be returning. Thank you Alpine Park Cottages. Linda, Barry, and Rascal.

We've just enjoyed another wonderful week's holiday at Alpine Park. The site is ideal for our group - the accommodation is of a high standard, the gardens are beautifully landscaped and it is well located close to the motorway and many attractions. The cottages are spotlessly clean and the grounds well maintained. Sally and Curtis are really helpful and always make us feel welcome. All in all, a lovely, relaxing holiday.
